There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Have a 2014 RT-S with 3594 miles and the center wear bar is showing. Have tried to locate a Kumho AST, but that are non-existent. Can anybody help me with any other car tire that maybe used instead of Kenda. Have called BRP, but they said tires before 2014 were made to run longer than 2014 tires. Talked to our dealer and they stated they have no way of knowing what tire is the better mileage ones. BRP kept the same part number. Leaving on a trip next week to Virginia and hope we make it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.:bowdown:

We just got one from DISCOUNT TIRE DIRECT. It is a 225/50R/15 (rear) and it arrived in just a few days.

Not True

You are getting some bad advice. For starters, there are still many places from which you can buy the Kumho rear tire. Try discount tire.

Your dealer is able to look at the part number on the rear tire and tell if it is the 2013/2014 soft compound or if it is the 2012 longer lasting compound. BRP has recently changed their rear tire part number back to the 2012 compound that will last longer, here is the thread I started on the subject http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?71987-Changes-to-OEM-Rear-Tire-Construction

There are many other rear tire options. If you demand the exact same size try the Maxxis MA-Z4S Victra or the Toyo Proxes 4, I have used both.

And there have been many threads here in this forum on the other sizes you can use. 215/60-15 and 205/60-15 sizes work well, give you many many options of brands.

2013 rt limited tire on backorder 2 weeks from tire discount... Issue may be they won't sell them for CanAm purchase after this week which means my backorder may be canceled. Any information or suggestions on replacing back tire other than 180 for BRP tire and 100 to install

Opted for 205 65 R 15 Michelin defender for that reason they discount tire said the kumho was on back order and that this size is stocked everywhere. Got good mileage from last Michelin so what the hey. Maybe it was their margin why it was ' on back order'?

215/60R15 plays well with the Nanny and will true up your speedometer. I put Michelin HydroEdge in that size on the rear of my 2010 RT. Tire is less expensive than OEM and is looking like 35-40k mileage before wear out for me. The HydroEdge is no longer made, replaced by the Defender, which is what I put on the fronts. Check Michelin out. If you need your dealer to mount it, make sure they'll mount non-OEM tires before you make a purchase and bring it to them. My dealer will, but I've heard others say their dealer won't.

Picture with my speedometer & GPS reading the same speed:

Curious..!!

there are no center wear bars. Those are water blocks and the wear bars are to the sides and much lower down. 20140408_173906.jpg
Find that triangle that indicates where the wear bars are. If its down there are plenty tgreads on car tires..don't use them myself...

I'm using a 215/60/15 on the rear and can report after 5,300 miles the Michelin Primacy is wearing great. Yes my speedometer is right with the GPS too.

discount tires Kumho

As I am typing, my order to discount tire for the Kumho Ecsta AST has been refused.
Agent said they just got word that there is a conflict between BRP and Discount tire as to the suitability for the spyder.
They will not sell any more for the spyder until further notice.

General

Has anyone tried the General Altimax in the 215/60/15? Traction A temperature A. It looks like a good tire and CHEAP $59 on tire rack right now.

Mike, is this the tire you have on the back of your RSS?? I do not need one right now, just put the Kumho on about 2000 miles ago so I should be good for a while.

:dontknow:........Dave , right tire ....but wrong size ......I have the 205 /60 - 15, this is what I had on when I won I st place ( in stock class ) at the 2014 Spyderfest Drags ......Truthfully , I could light the rear up a little too easily IMHO ........so Traction wasn't the best IMHO , but it was for the DRAGS ................Mikeguyver

I just took delivery last week on a Kumho in stock size from Discount Tire. $81 to my door. At the time of the order it showed 12 in stock, so there weren't many at that time.

Order from Discount tire direct off ebay .You don't have to tell them what its for. I had mine in two days free shipping.
The stores will ask and will not order for you. They say they don't have data on the Spyder and it may be to heavy for the tire. They are all ass***es.
