• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Need some Help

Country Spyder

New member
All,

Thankfully I was able to start my Xmas vacation a little early. The project for this vacation is to make a new trailer to haul the spyder with. One problem: I left my sheet with dimensions at home and I am hours away already. Can someone please measure two dimensions for me?

1. How far does the tip of the nose stick out pasted the centerline of the front wheels?

2. What (and where) is the lowest ground clearance on the bike? I had measured the center approximently under the driver, but I am not sure if that is the lowest. The website says 4.5" but I find that hard to believe.

Thanks again for the help and if anyone has any suggestions on things to design into the trailer I am all ears.

Thanks!

Don't know if this will help, but here is the dimensions from the RT Manual.

DIMENSIONS
Overall length 2 667mm
Overall width 2 064 mm
Overall height 1 600mm
Seat (top) height 750 mm
Wheelbase 1 773mm
Front wheel track 1 884 mm
Ground clearance, front and under engine 115 mm

Just need to convert from mm to inches. Good Luck

As far as I can tell, the 4 1/2 inch clearance seems to be correct. And by my measurements, it appears that the front sticks out about 24 inches forward of the center of the front wheels. I hope that helps! As for trailer suggestions, I bought a trailer that handles really nice and I'd be glad to answer any questions you may have about that, but I don't have the technical background to offer any real advice. Good luck!

Height depends on your weight & how the suspension is set up. With me on the bike, the low point is roughly at the front of the seat and 3.7" off the deck.

Use a dropped axle, the lower the bed, the shorter the ramp you'll need. I got my Spyder's ride from Quality Built Trailers, south of Lexington,TN. Good pull, about the same price as the flat beds from Tractor supply.

Thanks Everyone

Thanks for all the help!

I am having a custom trailer made that will do multiple things. I need it to haul my mower (56"), the spyder, as many dirt bikes as possible, and haul mulch (obvisously not all at once). The drop trailer seems like a great idea!

Thanks again!
