There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Need recommended waterproof gloves...

Can anyone reccommend a good pair of waterproof motorcycle gloves? I actually like to ride even when its raining out, and I have a good set of rain jacket and rain pants - but my gloves get soaked! I'd like something not too bulky (got to have freedom of movement and control). With the rain season beginning in Tennessee, and winter soon coming - I need gloves that are warm too, but more importantly WATERPROOF since our winters are mostly rain. Thanks for any help.

I tried the HD ones w/ Gortex - they don't work. Tried some Joe Rocket ones - they didn't work. I use Hatch Pistol Gloves - they don't say waterproof and the outter glove gets wet but my hand is warm and dry inside.

There are some waterproof glove on the market, but I haven't found any that don't leak in a substantial rain. For the waterproof leather ones, additional waterproofing with something for boots, like Nikwax, Bear Grease, or Sno-Pruf seem to help. For a downpour I wear latex or neoprene overgloves. Playtex dishwashing gloves work, but are tight. Motorcycle overgloves like Tourmaster or Aerostitch are better. They have overboots, too. Sometimes I even use neoprene fishing gloves, but I sweat so much inside that my hands end up wet, anyway. The thick neoprene, like a wetsuit, keeps your hands warm, though.

I have some BMW gore-tex gloves that work great. I was fortunate to get them brand new from a guy giving up motorcycles. They do keep you dry but are pretty pricey new. They also run large so try them on if you can. Check webbikeworld.com for some other recommendations.

I have a pair of the Aerostich triple digit rain covers. They work like a charm. In forty years of motorcycling, I have never found a truly waterproof glove, but these things work!

When I lived and rode in Seattle I used Olympic gloves these are the best gloves I have ever found and I own 3 pair now for different seasons. I would recommend the GT 4150 - GORE-TEX™ ALL SEASON GLOVE these have an outer glove of cowhide and an inner liner of gore-tex that is wind proof and water proof. I also would go over the outer seams with a water proofing spray can't remember the name now. Anyway these are great gloves. They also have a wiper sewn on to each thumb that is useful to wipe off your helmet shield or glasses, they used to put it in the back of the index finger and I think I liked that better.:2thumbs:

Thanks Danny!

I thank everyone who recommended waterproof gloves. So far I've looked at what Danny has suggested (the Olympia with gor-tex) all season gloves. I found what I think is a good price at $53.96 for the pair. Most other sites offer them at $64.00 or so. Haven't ordered yet so if anyone else has more ideas, keep them comming! :2thumbs:

 I wear a pair of rubber gloves under my gloves , my hands stay dry and warm. The blue glove that mechanics wear.

The Olympia gloves suggested are pretty warm, but they were not waterproof for us. We have Firstgear Warm & Safe heated gloves that stay warm and dry for us.

And what do you mean rainy season starting in TN??! It was pretty freakin' rainy (and hot and humid) when we were there last month. :yikes:

I have a pair of paint ball gloves (spandex type material) that I wear when it rains the gloves get wet but still maintains my grip. $7.00 - $10 at Wally World. What else do you need - latex gloves to cover if you really need them.

:agree:

I did this for the first time in the Smokies and it worked GREAT. Gloves were soaked-- but my hands were nice and dry!
Yeah, I should have done that too. That way my hands wouldn't have been purple from the glove dye bleeding onto my hands! :gaah:

Are you still trying to get us to believe that story???

I know how your hands really turned purple---- and my silence CAN be bought!

Found Solution for Waterproof Gloves!

I phoned BRP and talked with the "head honcho" about my rain soaked gloves. I asked if they could have thier engineers design an Auto-Pilot system for the Spyder. This way when it rains, all I have to do is hit a button and then place my hands into my pockets!!!!! He thought it was a great idea to go along with the VSS system.

All kidding aside, I've just decided to go with surgeon type rubber gloves as suggested by some of you.

Geez....just think if one of us could invent a truly waterproof glove, we could become millionaires just by selling them on TV at only $19.95 :D
