• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Need pics and help on Riser options...

What I mean about the stock bars is this...

The stock bars I will be cutting. Folks here have mentioned they can be replaced. So how is this? Are they "Pressed" into position? Clamped? Bolted? Screwed? :dontknow:

Single clamp in the center under the cover.

I just installed the Kewlmetal adjustable risers yesterday. Very easy to install. just about 4 hours. the only thing I can say is, why did it take me soo long to do this mod. What a difference. Now looking for a Chad. hope you enjoy the mod as I am.:2thumbs:

If you 'mess up' the job, or are otherwise unhappy, you can always buy a new handlebar piece from BRP...the cost isn't too outrageous.

Now, as far as positioning...basically, instead of leaning so hard into the handlebars, you will be able to be more upright and comfortable.

I have rotated mine from time to time just to get a different feel....two bolts on the bottom can be loosened and tightened with ease...if you rotate forward vs. back, you can be more upright...or less.

I'm really big into aesthetics. I don't like a lot of the gimmicky, cheesy things on my bike (not to offend anyone out there)...I like my bike to have gizmos and gadgets, but I want the lines to flow...the ESI risers really fit the bike well...they look stock...and function really well! I am really happy with mine...I had my dealer install them as, like you, I didn't want to cut my handlebars...

I would not go back...no way...the comfort is vastly improved...

Perfect... I see... Very simple and easy to work with.

For those with the HELI bars...

  • Does the "Lock" still work with the key? I learned how to use this yesterday and can see myself using it.
  • Anyone using the ISCI Hand Brake with it?

With the KewMetal "Handlebar change over assembly" I am thinking of the 7" version.

  • Is this 7" actually 7" taller and from what point? The mount or old height vs new height?
  • Is the 3" pullback claimed keeping the handlebar at the factory angle? (Sweep)
  • Anyone using the ISCI Hand Brake with it?
With either of the other options...

  • Anyone using the ISCI Hand Brake with it?

P.S. I try to never read the instructions until they items get to me. I Like them being fresh in my mind. In this situation it would have helped to know about the factory bar had I of read them... lol

Thank you for the PM's! That helped me a lot... The pics made a huge difference for me. Thank you both!

We "think" the best solution for our needs is going to be the KewlMetal 7" handlebar system. This seems to allow for more "Gizmo" options than any other and allows for the brake without issue. Not to mention... Going back to "Factory" for what ever reason will cost me nothing...

I hope the "Lock" still works with these. But I tried calling twice Friday and twice today only to not have anyone answer. So I will wait to order till I speak to one of them. They are great to work with (Even called me back last Thursday on a different order) so I will be happy to wait...:2thumbs:

I ran the KM 7" when I had mine. The lock still works.

.

Call them in a day or two. I also had a hard time getting them but found out they were closed due to heavy snow. (Prescott Az.) also lock works fine with them.

Placed my order last night. Went the KN 7" route. :2thumbs:

Thank you all for all of your input. It was very helpful in finding the best solution for our needs :ohyea:

Installed the KM setup today. Major props to those before me. Your tips saved my fanny and made the process trouble free! It now feels much more like the RT angle/position. :2thumbs::bowdown:

One thing to note. The left had grip was glued at least 70% on the top. No choice but to cut and run. Now I need to find new grips... sigh...

The stock qrips suck anyways, best thing that can happen to you...

We cut the center consol, after that you can install almost any 7/8" bar. We used Moose racing high rise atv bars. Total cost eas $45. Not counting my labor. The install looks nice and if someone doesn't like it they don't have to look at it. I've done three bikes to date takes about 6 hours. The difference in ride is fantastic and doesn't cost anything. Good luck!
