Need parts for oil change

I cant get a hold of Mike (BoneCrushers guy) and need to order the parts for my 3k mile oil change. Anyone got the hookup anywhere?

My dealership is THE WORST! I took my bike in today toget the steering recall done and an oild change, but im not leaving it with them. They said I was the 1st spyder they were going to do the recall on and didnt know what was involved. I told them BRP sent me a letter saying it was a 20 min job. Anyway, they then told me they didnt have the filters on hand and it would take a week to get them. I hate my dealership, so im going back to the little place where i got my 600 mile oil change and bringing my own parts again.

Unbelievable that a Syder dealer would not stock oil filters. It makes it hard to stick it to you if they can't do the oil change.
Half the battle of owning a :spyder2: is a good service dept.

Yes, it's ridiculous. Originally, before he even saw they were out of filters he said we have a ton of bikes, you're going to have to leave it 5 days. I got a little pissed because he didnt tell me that on the phone. Then he had about 5 excuses why they couldnt have it doen today.

-Tech that works on the spyder doesnt work on Wednesdays. (well, they are the ones that told me to bring it in today..at 10am)

-Out of filters, will take a week to get in

-First bike doing the recall, have no clue how long.

Excuse after excuse, I just cant take it.....love my :spyder2: though.

Is it really needed to replace the o-rings and crush washers? I've only done one on the bike so far and didn't. On all my vehicles and quad i've never replaced the crush washers. The o-ring comes on the filters(I understand about the 0-ring inder eth filter cap).

Well, my dealer had 14 filters in stock, but the O-rings and crush-washers had to be sent from Canada... go figure than one out..

Anyway, I bought 4 of everything, so I'm set for a while - and haven't done my 600 mile check yet.

I haven't changed any crush washers or O-rings and haven't had any problems.:f_spider:

Done a few oil changes now on my and my buddies and each time I do not replace the crush washer on the oil reserve, it leaks just a little bit on his. I even got a torq wrench to make sure I am putting it on tight enough. both time, had to remove, quickly put back on and tighten before all the oil leaked out..lol. Have gotten too good at it now. Now, I just replace it just in case. On the other hand, I have done it twice that I didn't replace it and no problems...go figure.
+1 on the order them while they got them. I order 6 at a time due to supports others around me and thier oil changes. Damn slackers.

Hey Donk45, which dealer didn't have the parts in stock? I live in Mt. Airy and am trying to find a good dealer and would like to stay away from any bad dealers. Any comments from anyone out there as to good (or bad) dealers in MD??

The dealer is Coleman powersports (Falls Chuch VA) where I bought the spyder. I talked to the dealer in Frederick and will be picking up the parts from them on saturday for an oil change. They seemed a lot nicer, but the prices are crazy.

They said 3k mile maint $319 (3.5 hours) out the door with tax and everything. I said how much for just an oil change (1 hour), and he said oh..thats $319 too. We have to charge that and reset the compute after an oild change :dontknow:

A $319 oil change??? No thanks. I'm just getting the parts.

I am, I mean they said computer and oil correctly (not like my typing :roflblack:) but im staying away from them anway. Just going to get the parts, because they have them in stock.

WOW!! $319 for an oil change?? That's ridiculous!! I haven't had too many problems with the Frederick dealer. That's where I bought my Spyder. I told them that I would change my own oil, but that they could do everything else for my 600 mile initial service. Parts, including 5qts. oil came to $103.28 and labor came to $127.50, of course that was also November of 2008. Seemed fair to me, but maybe their prices have changed a bit, ha, ha. I'm going to schedule my power steering recall through them so I'll keep "Marylanders" posted.

I believe that the part number for the SE5 trans filter is 420256452. This is the number off my dealer invoice for oil change parts. Back in 11/08 it cost me $8.99 from a dealer in MD.
