I thought that I had been losing a little air in the rear, so took it to dealer to get his opinion. Shock blown. Is there an equivalent shock that will work with this? No one seems to have any in stock, so will have to order one from somewhere. Dealers want around $89.-95 for a new stock one. I don't have the air compressor, so it looks like lower bolt & upper bolt, and it is out. Has anyone changed one on 2010 RT SE5, and if so, how hard was the top bolt to get to? How much tupperware did you have to take off? Looks like all the side panels, just as if you were changing oil, except on both sides.
Mechanic said about 3 hrs labor. Don't see that.
If there is an equivalent shock that can be used, who carries it? Somewhere I heard that BRP has an upgraded shock and does the dealers know this?
I asked the mechanic if I could cause any further damage, since I have a ride that will be around 700 miles round trip next weekend, and will be in Toronto the first half of week, and therefore will not be able to fix for at least a couple of weeks, and he said it would be fine, just a bouncy ride.
