• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where can I find the connector for the GPS other than Purchase the gps mounting kit from BRP for my 2011 RT SE5 Or do I have to buy the kit? Witch I don't want to Use. I'd rather mount it on the top of the dash. Also where is the connection for the GPS located under the tupperware. I asked the dealer and they couldn't tell me. I don't think they have ever installed one. I'm getting ready to install a few lights on the RT. But no way am I a wrench. Any help will be a great help. Thank you in advance and HAPPY NEW YEAR. Hope to see everyone in CUBA.:yes: Ben

The plug is located at front of right saddle bag. Just remove right side panel and look behind
saddle bag. I believe I read somewhere that you can order just the connector from BRP. Not
sure.

This video at about 6:18 in shows you where the plug is hiding behind the right side saddle bag
Good luck....

GPS Connector

I tried to buy one of the Garmin Connectors to fit the 660 GPS and the dealer told me they do not off just the connector. They said you had to buy the BRP/Garmin 660 complete package to get the matching connector. I went to a Harley dealer and they sold me exact same connector that the Garmin 660 mounts into that is found on the Limited model. You still have to purchase the BRP mounting base from your Spyder dealer.

Hey Ben,

You can buy just the GPS cable. it is around $60. I wanted the mount kit for my 2010, but it was not availble when I did my 660 install, so I got the BRP GPS cable and a ram mount that bolts to one of the handle bar bolts.

The connector is just behind the saddle bag on the right side (if you are sitting on the spyder).

The install is easy, but most of the right side tupperware has to come off.

I bought the connector from my dealer and it was about 60$$. I also bought the mount from Kewl Metal to use with the GPS I bought at GETfeetwet. So you may want to tell you dealer to order just the connector. They can look it up in the parts fiche, or if you do some searching here you will find the part number listed.

Note: from another thread on board.... Here is the GPS Harness - BRP Part# 710002182..

you could mount your GPS on dash using RAM mounts and then wire in a powerlet to feed the GPS power only down fall is that GPS cannot not be hooked up to BRP's CB and comm system. Here is link for powerlets http://www.powerlet.com/
