• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I went to my local tire place and asked for a tire the same size of the one i have and they almost laughed at me, they said that is a very rare tire, what other choices do i have? i tried the serch but nothing came up, what are you guys using?
Thanks!!!

The OEM size is 225/50-15.
It's about as common as dirt...
Try looking for a Kumho Ecsta in that size.
Another useful size is:
215/60-16
General's Altimax is very popular for our Spyders in this size.

+1 on the Kumho Ecsta AST. I've been very satisfied with mine. I have over 14K on it. I'll probably have to replace it this summer, though.

I am running the General Altimax RT 43 , 215/60 R15 @ 26 PSI as a rear tire on my 2014 RTS-SE6.

I have 10,660 miles, ( changed the original Kenda tire at 5,824 miles). I have 4,836 miles the General Altimax RT 43.

This is the 2nd riding season with the above tire. It handles excellent on dry, wet, gravel, dirt, roads. Deanna

Would not recommend a 16" tire Bob.

Que....!!

If you search here you will have enough reading material to last you till the Cinco de Mayo....:roflblack: seriously there is no end to tires, gas and oil related threads and posts....The tough part is picking which one and according to who....:dontknow:

can you even put a 16" tire on a 15" rim?

Sure, a 16" tire can physically be 'fitted' to (or probably more correctly, 'put on over'.... :roflblack: ) a 15" rim, but you can't inflate said 16" tire or use it for anything other than being a bit of black stuff to hold the rim off the ground while it's all standing still!! :yikes:

Another worthy choice is

Michelin Defender

AJ

All you need is a rim stretcher to get a 16" tire to fit the rim.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I think Bob's 16" rim was a typo. ;)

Mexican, I'm running a Yokohama s.Drive tire, 205/55R15. The tire guy who installed it said it fit the Spyder rim better than the OEM tire. It's the same diameter and circumference, but just slightly wider. There are LOTS of choices. As Chupaca said, just search this forum for tire threads.

What kind of mileage are people getting out of this tire?
Size comparison looks great.

Just called the dealer to ask how much they would charge to replace the tire with OEM . it is around $350, they told me they have to use 3 bottles of balancing liquid since they can't use weights, whats up with that? Am i gonna have liquid inside the tire the whole time? is that going to corrode the wheel eventually???
Do i have to use that liquid with the car tire also??
