• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Need help!

Thanks for all the suggestions

Go figure :dontknow: Started up this morning after it had a good nights sleep. Got on the road and made it home with no other
problems. Gotta say thanks for SteveMac for meeting up with us this morning and offering his bike for us to ride
and hauling ours home also. Instead we rode ours with him blocking traffic just in case of another sudden death.
Most of all, Thanks to KentuckyGuy and Ronda for being there and staying with us when things seemed really bad. They
where good friends and Judy and I will never forget it.
And SL family came together so fast with answers it was amazing and was such a big help. Thank you!
Not sure what that was all about but we will be visiting the shop to have things checked. My thought would be at this
time it might have been something to do with the rain. Hopefully I can find out something and get back with answers.

Richard, I'm SO sorry we couldn't help

When I first saw that I had a missed call, I had no clue who it was and when I stopped at the gas station and called back, I couldn't understand Judy at all, and then when you called back, I understood who you were then, but I had already left Lamonts and was on the road myself and the connection was so poor, I couldn't understand where you were. I'm so sorry we couldn't be there when you needed us :opps: :banghead:

:cheers:I'm just glad the rest of the SL Family pulled together and got you taken care of:clap:
And SteveMac :firstplace:He's Da'Man:firstplace::bowdown: I even saw him changing out someones shocks for Elkas :yes:IN THE RAIN:shocked::bowdown:

Dave, Thanks anyway dude . I know you would have been there come hell or high water man. That's why I called you dude. I
knew that you could get answers and relay back to me on those codes. Dang phones:banghead: . Last time I talked to you were
going to take a nap and might still be at Lamont's where codes would be stored in the safe. I wouldn't have been on your path home
but know you would reroute if you could. Everything is cool now, Maybe Spyder was telling me to get off the road:pray: and finish my ride
today. It was a very pleasant day for a ride.

We wasnt doing anything that you wouldnt have done for us.. We are just so glad tha we made it to the motel room last night an didnt have to have it towed after all.. Today was such a grat day for riding.. Maybe the good Lord was telling us somthing last night an wanting us to get off the road an not travel in the dark.. Sometimes he has strange ways to doing things to keep us safe..

Keep us posted bro. Hopefully they find something simple. Sure was a pretty day you guys had for riding. I was jealous tagging along behind in the SUV! See ya later this month for some R&R!!

Spyder went to the shop today to have it checked out. Hope they can give me an answer as to what happened.

Glad it's being checked out. You can't be having these things happening while you're traveling. Please keep us posted.

bad luck

Sorry to hear about your break down. Really glad to hear a happy ending to the ride. Leesa and i can't wait to get together for the second Ky. lake ride and be able to meet our friends we met there last year .
If you hear of anyone needing a place to stay that weekend, we have a two bedroom cabin rented and noone in the other half. Jim and Lois can't be with us this year.
I didn't mean to hijack your post.

Jerry, Will be glad to see you again. Looking forward to a great weekend and get together myself. I will post on
thread 2nd annual Ky Lake ride that you have a room to share. Might get a hit there.

Verdict is in.

Talk to dealer today and the verdict is that the starter/kill switch controller is what cause Spyder to die on the highway. Dealer has ordered new part (Control unit on right side on handle bars) and with any luck I will be reunited with Spyder next week. In time for
the Kentucky Lake ride. :yes:Going to miss riding this week but will be a good time to get some yard work done around the house. Maybe even get in a round of golf. Later

I think I remember SteveMac saying something about that controller when he was there. Said that they get corroded up. Glad it's getting fixed.

I know I'm pretty late checking in on this but I had this same code twice during a week of riding around Taos, NM. Both times it went into limp mode but cleared before I could check the codes. The first time we were in Red River, NM and had just gassed up. When I took off it went into limp mode, and before I could pull over it cleared and no more trouble. Then a couple of days later it happened again after our group had stopped for a short rest and looking at the scenery and, again, cleared before I could stop.

When I took the Spyder in for a regular service on Saturday, 9/15, I asked them to check the codes and let me know what they found. The code they found was P2530 and they gave me some mumbo-jumbo about turning the key on and off too fast. I didn't argue with them. Their best Spyder mechanic didn't do the service and I didn't have a chance to talk to him but I will check with him later and see if he has any ideas about what happened. At any rate since the problem cleared so quickly, I wasn't too concerned about it. I fully believe that the biggest problem with our Spyders is buggy software. If I could ask BRP for any improvement, it would be to fix the software.

That code is pretty clear as far as my dealer was concerned. They are replacing the control unit on the right side of handle bars.
Starter button is the problem but when I was having issue on the highway coming home from Lamont's it was kinda like hitting the
kill switch. I don't recall ever seeing limp mode in the display. It just died with no power. I would go back and have that rechecked
by dealer again. It will happen again and could leave you out on the highway just like me. :banghead:

How much did this cost to get fixed? I am having the same issue right now and my dealer is closed today?
