• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Need HELP

I need some help. I had the idea to add my Sirius radio to my 2011 RT. I installed the antenna on top of the trunk and ran the wire up to the right side out the right side speaker grill. I have a ram mount on the right handlebar. That is where the radio will go. First problem - I added two Powerlet outlets to the front. I ordered the first one and installed it in the left front speaker grill. This one is a cigarette outlet. I then ordered a second one; it needed to be custom built. They sent it but it was a Powerlet outlet not a cigarette outlet. I called and to their credit they are sending me what I want with a return envelope. I am ok with that. I connected the red to the positive on the battery and the black to the negative on the battery. Unfortunately there is no power to the outlet. At the same time I added the pig tail for the battery tender. That seems to be working. Second problem is I can plug in the radio to the cigarette outlet in the truck and it works, but when I connect the Scala Team Pro headsets to the radio the volume is so low that when the bike is running I can't hear the radio. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

WOW, we've got the Garmin Zumo 665 with the XM built in

I'm really sorry I don't have any answers for you,but if your trying to listen to a stand alone radio with its own speakers, I seriously doubt you could find one that would be loud enough to be heard. We have our XM hooked up to play thru the RTs front & rear speakers & that works well for us. Hopefully someone that is much more tech. savvy than I will come along with some suggestions or answers for you. Good Luck.

SIRIUS AND XM TWO DIFFERENT MAGILLAS

I bought an XM snap radio which works perfect with my RT SE5. However I have Sirius in both of my cars. Even though the companies merged, I was not able to put my XM Snap radio on my Sirius account. If you are starting up brand new and have no account, then the XM Snap is the way to go. I was at the dealer getting 600 mile (Actually 1200) check up and service and they removed some panels and popped out the extra antenna grommet. I ran the antenna through the small hole he drilled and than used industrial strength velcro to attach the antenna to the trunk lid. It plugged right in to the unit and the unit plugged in to the adapter and that was it. I was ready to roll. If you are a sirius subscriber then the Stratus is the way to go. Sirius is sending me a free radio. (Had to pay $8.00 shipping) but they are sending me a home and car kit so in the winter, I can take the radio out of the bike and listen in the house. Since I have 2 radios already, they are waiving my activation fee for a new one and are giving me 3 month subscription for less than $23.00. I will take a picture of the XM snap before I take it out and show where the antenna is then will take a picture of Stratus when I get that hooked up so you all can see the difference and pick out a radio that is right for you. Happpy riding and listening.

I fixed the electrical

I was able to fix the electrical issue. It is amazing what happens when you read the directions. I vaguely remember seeing a fuse in the package. Well the instructions tell you to put the fuse in. Since I didn't fully read the directions I didn't realize I was missing the fuse. After using the volt meter and following the wires and realizing something was missing I re-read the instructions. I saw the step about the fuse and then realized I have the automotive type fuse it calls for. I stuck in a 15 amp fuse and now I have power. YEA!!!!! Now for the volume problem. I think I can figure that out eventually. Thanks for the help so far!!

My problem with any Bluetooth device is it is never loud enough. I have the scales too. The volume beeps can hurt your ears but phone conversations or a2dp audio streaming is so quiet it can't be heard even with max volume on all devices. Bluetooth just sucks. I wish you luck with your project though. Hope you get it working the way you want it.

Thanks for the info. I am open to almost any suggestion. The bike speakers are just difficult to listen to.

The Spyder audio speakers work great for us, only thing we use for the past 2 years

Just an FYI, if you go into your audio settings on the RT, you can adjust for the volume to increase with your speed, so the faster you go, the louder the audio system plays, automatically. We've never had a problem listening to tunes with just using the audio from the Spyder, but thats just us. Wish you luck

I replaced the speakers on my Scala G4 with earphones that made everything clearer.
