• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need help with juice box problems

I would suspect a problem with the purge valve...either the valve or the solenoid. That would explain the surging and the gas smell. There are procedures in the manual that your dealer can use to check it, but these intermittent problems are sometimes elusive. If you temporarily plug the purge valve vent, and the problem is relieved, it is definitely the purge system.

There was a bad batch of Juice Boxes and some had to have theres replaced. I know that the Juice Box Pro is out now a lot more money and not sure you get a lot of bang more for your buck ?It does take some tweaking to get it right its a fine line between performance and gas mileage.

Scotty by my description of how it's running u don't think it was running on one cylinder? I was up all night worried about it lol. Also if it was would myidle be off because my idle is perfect it's just when I accelerate and it the whole way thru the powerband. Thanks for everyones help!

Any chance you could of got some bad gas or perhaps a spark plug cap loose? check the simple things first. Also if your running the stock filter it may not be getting all the 02 it requires and possibly making it run too rich.

I'm going to check the plugs / wires. I'm also going to change them regardless. It's just hard to pin point because it doesn't happen all the time. I am still on stock filter gonna pick up a better flowing one this week. I'm just hoping nothing is damaged. Bad gas I dint think ran great first 70 miles of the tank. I'm also going to do the purge valve fix and see if that helps.

Considering the gas smell--- I think there's a strong case he's running too rich.

I would do as Bone Crusher recommended and take modes 2-3-4 down to .5 and see how it runs--- gradually increase them and see what happens.

When mine would cut out it was VERY noticeable and I would get a strong gas smell... so yes I think I was running too rich. Changing settings 5 and 6 took care of it.

Yeah too rich I believe is deff the case. With setting for being at 6.5 it seems to be dumping fuel like crazy. Going to turn I all down and go from there. We have some ugly weather coming the next few days. Gonna order some
new plugs the y gaskets and other parts and just give it a maintain weekend and finish it all. Going to also dothe purge valve and see what's up. I'll post pics of my plugs when I pull em. Thanks for all the help guys. If u can think I'd anything else to check please let me know.

Get the Honda Y gaskets, they're way better than stock. Firefly and I changed ours about 1,500 miles ago and have had no problems. I also changed my plugs...went with the iridium ($7 each at AutoZone). They're supposed to last longer than stock...I guess I'll wait and see. :D

Ryde safe! :doorag:

1= not used.
2= extra fuel to add during acceleration
3= extra fuel to add during WOT (wide open throttle)
4= extra fuel to add during cursing
5= how sensitive it reacts to throttle input in order to use setting 2
6= how sensitive it react to throttle input in order to use setting 3

Hey Firefly!
I figured out your JB issues...it's your potty-mouth causing the JB to add too much fuel!!! :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:

HAHA that slid right by me too.... no wonder my bike hates me right now... ill have to keep that in mind more fuel = more cursing :roflblack:

I keep getting tempted..... either going to get the Power Commander setup with gauges, auto-tune, etc....... or step up and get the Aerocharger. the more I've read about their technology the more I like what they've done. Sure would make for a nice, clean setup.

the auto tune and gauges are looking pretty tempting at the point im at right now. Called auto zone, pep boys, advanced auto and no one has the NGK DCPR9EIX in stock. Going to call napa tomorrow or order online. I'm hoping the plug issue and cutting back my setting 4 is going to help me out. I also called two brothers today waiting for keith to call me back... starting to wonder if this is a faulty unit as well. Can spark plugs dry out after they get clogged up from running to rich allowing the bike to run good for another 20 min then going back to crap?

Yes, but only for a short time sooner or later they'll foul out completely.

Sounds good as soon as i get a clue on what i need before i pull these spark plugs ill know exactly whats going on. Cant wait till this is all done with haha. Thanks for the help everyone wont be posting pics of the plugs until monday ( need a torque wrench and hoping to get a filter in the next day or too so i can leave the airbox out for good ).
