• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Hi guys just installed the hitch and wiring harness today on the rt limited and when we tried to hook up the factory harness to the trailer after re wiring to a 4 wire we are not geting any power to the trailer. We did test the trailer lights and they do work, tested the 3 foot long harness to trailer it is good, what we cant seem to get any readings on the female deutsch connector (module) is it possible that it is no good. Thanks for your help. The lights on the bike are working with the hitch harness on just no power to the bottom female 7 pin connector.

Are you sure you are connecting the tongue harness (between spyder and trailer) wires to the proper wires on the trailer? Example, orange wire on tongue harness to the yellow wire on the trailer (left turn signal).
I discovered on my Spyder only the brown, red, orange, and black wires were live. I assume you tested each wire coming out of the Spyder?

Understand the trailer lights work, but did you test each lead coming out of the spyder? If you're using the specs from this forum of the tongue harness, you may be connecting the wrong leads to the trailer connector. I have a 2011 RT-S and discovered that the harness from my Spyder differed from that of the what others had listed here.

Hi no i just had the key turn to light the lights did not have it running, does it need to be running to get power to the module(dumb question). And yes we tested the trailer lights they all work.
Not all the lights work with the Spyder not running, such as the headlights. I have never tested my trailer lights when not running, so I can't say for certain, or say whether the module is powered all the time or not. It is worth trying before you go much farther.

HI, I will test them again to see if the meter reads anything. I understand there are a few wires that I will not use but it seems that there was no power to the module, I will have the bike running while I try a few connections to see what is going on hmmm:banghead::banghead::banghead: dam wiring lol, thanks so much for all the help

I would test right at the Spyder connector. There should only be three hot poles...right turn, left turn, and running, with the latest module. Both turn wires will be hot with brakelights or hazard lights. If you are not live at the module, it is either defective or disconnected. Also check fuse F7, which powers the trailer module and reverse actuator.

:agree: I blew the 10Amp fuse twice.

FINALLY ITS DONE

Well I got the trailer figured out today and it is finally the lights are all working. I have to give a bib big thank you to Anita(Spyderluv) who emailed with me back and forth today to get this working. I will post pics of the wiring and I do have the same harness and trailer as Spyderluv but one wire is what had me all messed up. The Aluma rep said the black wire was not in use on the trailer and that the white wire was the ground, Well its the opposite and once all wiring was done it was good to go. Also a big thank you to Nancytoy for helping out as well what a bunch of great people here:clap::clap:
