• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2011 SPYDER RTS WITH 6800 MILES
TOOK A RIDE TONIGHT.
CRUSING AT ABOUT 85 .... E... CAME ON IN THE DIGITAL AREA WHERE THE GEAR IS NORMALLY DISPLAYED.
N AND R WHERE ALSO FLASHING IN THE ANALOG SPEDOMETER.
ENGINE KEPT RUNNING FINE ON THE WAY HOME PUSHED 70+ A COUPLE OF TIMES ON THE WAY HOME JUST BECAUSE IM STUPID.
KEPT AN EYE ON THE ENGINE TEMP RAN A LITTLE HOTTER ONE MARK PAST HALFWAY USUALLY STAYS CLOSE TO HALFWAY AND I FELT EXTRA HEAT ON MY RIGHT LEG.
LET IT COOL OFF IN THE DRIVEWAY .
STARTED BACK UP AND ALL SEEMS OK

JUST CHECKED THE OIL VERY THIN LIKE WATER
MUST BE ANTIFREEZE
NOW WHAT !!
AN ENGINE REBUILD AT 6800 MILES WITHOUT WARRANTY

Well..!!

assuming it is a semi automatic (they usually have this going on) it could be soft shifting. The paddles have to be bumped solid if to soft the delay causes the computer to think it is a gear position problem. Usually will clear with the key walk. If it continues it may be the gear position sensor that has gone bad. The other quick check is that the shift arm on the shift shaft pinch bolt is tight. If it already cleared you should keep an eye on it. :thumbup:
 
:agree: Quick shifting or unsure (to gentle) shifting will sometimes bring on the E. If it goes away, you are probably ok. If the problem persists the dealer should have a look at it.

5 SPEED MANUAL WAS READING 5TH GEAR BEFORE E WHILE CRUISING N AND R WERE ALTERNATELY FLASHING ON THE WAY HOME AS WELL
 
Gear position sensor malfunction. The original poster said the N and R were flashing as well as the E.
 
THIS ISSUE

Don't get too nervous, I had this thing go on for a couple of YEARS before the Gear Position Sensor finally gave up.......Never did get the LIMP MODE just the occasional error screens....................It is on it's way out tho......Mike :thumbup:................PS you can clear it by removing the KEY and taking the Key away from the Spyder for 10 minutes ,,,,,,,
