There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I need the wisdom of this group to help me make up my mind about getting a CB setup on my 2009 RS Spyder. I mostly ride solo on weekends but I have a brother-in-law that I will ride with a few times a year. He has a CB setup on his bike. He has moved closer to me so we will ride together more often but still probably not more than 4 or 5 times a year. He tells me we could communicate while riding if I get a CB on my bike. I have looked into some J&M accessories but the cost seems high for the little use I might get out of it. Could anyone who has tried adding a CB to an RS offer lower cost options like getting a handheld CB and does that work? I guess I struggle with this because I'm unsure of how often I will use a CB if I install it on my Spyder. If you want to offer your thoughts about my problem feel free to jump in!

I realize that he's already got the CB, but a Bluetooth bike to bike system is probably the better way to get the job done.

The Midland 75-822 is a great handheld CB. It comes with options in the box to run off batteries OR a 12V adapter. Cost is about $100

Now the question to you is, how do you want to hear this in your helmet? This is where the setup can get more complicated. Wired earbuds? or Bluetooth?

Bob,

I agree with you but my brother-in-law is old school and he probably won't go the blue tooth route (I'm old school too, just from a different school).

Bob,

I would probably want to use a Bluetooth because a wired earbud would be whipping in the wind. However, I know that will really drive up the cost. If I am truly using it only a few times a year I could probably have a wired earbud.
