• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

decided to repair my RT after the rear-end-crash (not my foult)
what i want to have is a mixture between RS / RT .. my idea is

front wheels from the RSS
fender-holders from the RS
new shocks for the front (BRP RT MODELL 2011 ?)
all three tires new modell - all weather version (lot of rain here)
pump and switch for the rear shock (its not a RTS modell)
swaybar ?
lower handle-bar

has anyone some better ideas ? - or did i forget some parts to order ?
did 13.000 GS miles and 6.000 Rt miles in the last three years - still like most of the RT but ... my (biker)-friends never should wait for me

Fun project!

Wow Chris, sounds like you're designing a Super Spyder . . .
the best of all models! What a great project . . . :2thumbs::yikes::2thumbs:
You're probably gonna learn more than you ever wanted to know about the innermost workings of our machines. You already know you have the best resources available to you here on Spyderlovers.

We're eager to see and hear how it goes so keep us posted!!!

:agree: Building a personalized machine out of what was an unfortunate incident is what sometimes almost makes up for the aggravation that was involved in the first place... Good luck and please keep us posted on your progress... we're rooting for complete success! :2thumbs:

I wonder a bit about the effects of the narrower track from the RS wheels on the taller, heavier RT, but the new shocks may offset any losses. You have already removed the deflectors and cut down your windshield, so the 2011 parts wouldn't improve anything there. I think you have things pretty well figured out. I was thinking of a hybrid, too, but the ECM and cluster from an RS on an RT was what crossed my mind.

would be intresting how many of the RS or RT users would change over - if BRP would offer a Spyder like that ?? ( I would !1)

Be advised, try not to copy my design or we will have legal issues between us. :joke: :roflblack:

I was just gonna say that...
So you're going to do it the CORRECT way!
This is just a matter of replacing the "Tupperware"; right?

so this project is finished :clap::clap:thanks to all from BRP - as you see they have open ears to their costumers ..

will be a lot of work to make something better - after the first sitdown I would say - exact what I wanted - but what colour should I take ??
(black&chrom ??)

Decisions...
I've been looking at all of those RT pics, and they did a pretty nice job of making a lot of improvements on that bike too!
Now if I could just get my pands on some actual specs... :gaah:
