There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Need Experienced Opinion on Mufflers

I have a Hindle, relatively new and tight, that is just too :cus: noisy. I ride in a lot of noise abatement areas and have gotten "the look" from the law. So, what in your collective opinions, is the best aftermarket pipe to give me some nice sound but is not obnoxious? HMF, Yoshi, Two Brothers (one or dual), Micron, etc. Is there anything in the works that I should wait for?

Thanks in advance,

Tripod :joke:

I can tell you that, if the Hindle is too loud for your area, to stay far away from a Micron. :D

Speaking from one who had checked her options. Either keep the Hindle or go back to stock. I have decided for the time being to keep my Hindle, just don't care for the look of stock.

2bros single pipe with the PX1 insert. I just installed one on my RTS and it is the same DB level as stock, + or - 2 db on my meter. Plus it saved 13 lbs over my stock pipe.
I had the 2bros dual can setup on my Phantom and it was real loud, so I am not sure what changes they made for 2010

Muffler

I have a Leo Vince on mine
It has a really nice throaty sound to it - kinda Ducatti-ish sound without the baffle. Putting the baffle in seems to quiet it down alot - maybe quieter than the Hindle - just havent been able to put them side by side to compare.
Ive had it for 18 months now and no problems
Just my $.02 worth

Hope this helps

It sounds good too, with and without the baffle

I had a TB double muffler set with the P1X silencers and it was louder than the Hindle. So if the Hindle is too loud you definitely don't want a double TB. But they do looooook goooooood hung on the side. /Ken krb1945

One of the pipes with a silencer is going to be your only option
Leo (comes with it) or HMF with added quiet core and spark arrestor.
None of the "open pipes" (read "see through") are going to work for you.

I will say that since the Hindle is a BRP option you should OK even if you get the look

Is that your best constructive opinion?

Oh, come on now...he's just kiddin'...

Anyway, I have the hindle and think it is loud too...I do think that since it has the 'Can Am' name on it that it easily appears to be stock and should be just fine...

I do use earplugs and they help...I do also prefer to be loud so that more people can hear me...helps with safety? Can only help...

I have ridden several hundred (OK...thousand!) miles with Firefly and I can tell you, his Hindle is WAY better than my Micron as far as noise level...but not "cool level"!!! :D

I actually like the Hindle's sound better. nojoke (and yes, I always wear ear plugs when I ride, no matter which exhaust I have)

So that was YOU following me all over????:hun:

Stalker!:roflblack:

The Hindle is pretty tame compared to the other aftermarket options I've heard-- but I have not heard a Leo Vince up close--- that I know of.

Only pipe on the Spyder I've heard that even approaches some of the HD's I hear every day is Docs kewlmetal setup..... OUCH !!!:yikes:

And YES--- Ear plugs should always be worn- even with the stock 'lawnmower' muffler still on.;)

if hindle is too loud, it's pretty much stock pipe from there.
two bros with p1x tip was quiet (tip is off now) but i can not remember if hindle was quieter than this.

only thing i did not like about leo was that it has high pitch sound at idle. i think it was due to small outlet on the muffler.

I have EXPERIENCED Doc's MUFFLER and in my OPINION you certainly don't want that one! :yikes:

I like my Yoshimura. With the sound reduction tip in it sounds great, isn't as loud as the Hindle and gives me better power than the stock muffler. I think the carbon fiber looks good too.

I'm with ya....

Leo Vince Exhaust

I replaced stock with a Leo Vince muffler and was very satisfied with it. Its rated 93 db which I believe is legal for most states. I loved the sound, got at least 1 mpg more, but guess what. My mostly BMW and V-Strom riding buddies made me ride in the back so when I hit a dog and totaled Spyder 1, I kept my replacement Spyder 2 stock. I do miss the LV. FWIW..

looking at two brothers exhaust

Just got the 2010 RT-S....need to get some sound from it. I like the
low rumble of the two brothers. Anyone have any opinion one way
or the other?? Also anyone know where I can find a place in Seattle
that carries two brothers???

Bill
