• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Need advice on seat

:welcome:

If you are able to make it to Spyderfest the end of April, you will get a chance to see a whole bunch of different set ups in one place. Many of us would be more than happy to let you sit on our Spyders to see how well our mods fit you. I have the BRP Comfort Seat, and I am not sure you can beat it for the money.

Best of luck in your quest for comfort. :2thumbs:

So, do you think that I won't have enough cable?

Suebee, I have the 3" risers with the Can-Am 1" riser for a total of 4". My cables were long enough with no problem. You may have to cut a few zip ties to get to the right amount of cable but you should be fine. I love my risers and the riding position I get from them.

The 4" risers is not meant to fit with the 1" BRP riser. I would not attempt this. It is a lot of work (twice) only to be frustrated in the end. I would consider the KewlMetal handlebars and console. A Russell Day-Long seat can be built to move you forward a bit, as an alternative.

Well, I have the part ordered so will try it and if it doesn't work I'll return it (I hope they will take it back). And while I'm at the dealer I'm gonna see if they have a BRP comfort seat that I can sit on and see if I like it. I really appreciate everyone's input.

I'm going to say no the cables will be too short!

Unknown to me, my Spyder came with what looks like a 2" block riser and ordering the 3" ESI Risers, it was a stretch and the cables were long enough. The only thing I couldn't do was rotate them back towards me. This fits me well and am not reaching forward and I'm in a comfortable riding position.

I'm not saying your wrong and will only say it depends on the beast. Longer cable can always be added, or I can replace the 2" with a 1" block riser, if I ever want to be able to rotate them back towards me.

So I talked to the technician that installed my 4" risers and he said there is not enough cable to add the 1" block riser. So I cancelled that order. I looked at the Can Am comfort seat and was not impressed with it. So I broke down and ordered a Corbin seat yesterday :yikes:because the tech said it is the best seat according to other people he has installed it for. :2excited:I have a friend who has a trike and corbin seat and he says it is the best.

Mixed reviews on the Corbin...good luck with that...go with the 3" riser and the BRP 1" riser or just go with the 4" riser...it'll make a huge difference either way...
