• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

need advice about my 2014 rt limited

Yesterday was the first time that ive had a chance to get on the interstate with my :ani29: ans when I get up to about 65 I am getting a bad vibration in the handlebars and anything over 70 mph is really bad.Im hoping that someone on the site can guide me in the right direction so when I take it to the dealer I will know what to tell them. Any help will be greatly appreciated. I really love this site. Be gentle with me im new to the :ani29: world coming off a harley triglide.I have alot to learn.

Vibration

.It sounds like you need a laser alignment. Check with your dealer. You could also have a front tire that is not perfectly round.

:agree:, your dealer can do an alignment but most dealers can not Lazer Align it, which is probably what you need.

More likely a tire(s) problem (balance, out-of-round, separated belt, etc) than an alignment problem. I have not heard of a laser alignment correcting a front end vibration or wobble issue.

I had the same problem. Bought my new 2014 RT last week. The dealer replaced my front tires. BRP told them to because there are several hundred lots of tires that are bad. Take it in. Mines rides smooth as silk now.

Pull the front wheels off and take them to Mocks Tire on Stratford road just past the Honda/Can Am dealer and have them balanced on their Road Force balancer; this will tell you whether they are perfectly round or bent in any way; likely not, and just need balancing which may well solve your problem. Its worth every penny of the $1o bucks they charge per tire. I had mine done there and they are very familiar with doing Can Am tires. They can't remove them so you'll have to do it...something about they're not allowed to work on "motorcycles". After this, if it doesn't solve your problem, take it to the dealer for a laser alignment. BTW, torque on the front wheel nuts is about 80 ft lbs.

Mine is at the shop for basically the same thing. Except at speeds of around 50. Rebalanced the tires, installed new tires, still didn't fix the problem. Seems that the 2014 also is having issues with the front shocks. BRP is sending out new front shocks, hopefully this will cure my issues.

:welcome: Looks like the previous posters have you covered. Once you get the glitch(s) out, your going to like the 2014 a lot.

Laser Alignment

I have a 2014 RTS SE5. The first time I got to 70mph was on the way to Spyders In the Redwoods. Had put about 400 miles on it before this but never freeway. At 70 and higher could feel vibration through my feet and a little in handlebars. Had an appointment for a Rolo laser alignment with Squared Away at event. After the alignment, on the way back home on freeways vibration gone!! Thinking you should seek out laser alignment before spending money on new tires.

Most likely tires and or wheels are bad. Could also be something as simple as balance. Not uncommon.

Get that fixed and then get a quality laser alignment. That should give you a new outlook on life in the Spyder world!
