There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Need a new wind shield...

What is new on the market for windshields, I'm not happy with my BRP 25" touring version anymore, too much head buffeting. :helpsmilie:

Windshield

Whatever windshield you decide to purchase stay away from any product made be Marcel July. He's not an honest dealer/manufacturer.

:agree:

Although F1 apparently was sold to a new owner -- but I still wouldn't buy from them--- not just because of the previous dishonest dealings by Marcel --- but because their materials are not DOT certified.

Motza ---- how tall are you? do you have handlebar risers?

Something with adjustment to it is a good way to go....

Two options are:

CHAD-- which you used to be able to get from ESI --- but I'm not sure if you have to go through Custom Dynamics now or not??

The other option is the MadStad -- just do a google for them.

Those 'Laminar' type lips that you can stick on like the photo shown can help a lot too!

These look interesting and can be found at http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade/productview/4514/698/ I have an MRO on my Guzzi and Tuono. They both work very well. So I might try it on the Spyder too.

I've looked at those too... They only add 1.5" to the windshield... They are not terribly expensive so I might try one.

***But, I'm going to try one of these first before I drill any holes in my windshield..... http://shop.touratech.se/SE/Catalog/universaltillbehor/komfortutrustning/01-040-1390-0.html They make them in some different sizes and shapes. Expensive, but the guy from TricLED has one and it seems to work.

If you go to his website he says he never sold it to anyone and I did some googling and near as I can tell that Jim guy is most likely Marcel or someone doing work for him. We swapped a few PM's and I had the same run around with "Jim" as I did with Marcel that got him kicked off this site in the first place. He's not Welcome here nor are any of his employees under any username.nojoke

windshield

I didn't like the buffeting on my BRP 25", at 80 mph it was horrible.
I added the Laminar Lip to mine. In order for it to stay on don't trust the dual lock pads. I drilled 4 holes and used nylon bolts and nuts to hold in place. I still look over everything, NO buffeting at all. Worth the money as far as I'm concerned. I already had trimmed the windshield in order for the up and out mirror extensions to fit. JMHO.

Plz plz post a review if u do get these. If this one gets most of wind off my face and can be adjusted from ryding position, my dependency on f1 windshield will be finally over. I can live with little head buffeting.
They also had a sliding shield that may work also.

As most people know I don't like big windshield ( uncut toenails) but I have to say the Chad from esi products is cool my girlfriend has one on her Spyder and to be honest after my 3760 mile ride between bugs and rain I considered buying one it nice because you can adjust it to your liking .... Also my girl dee is windshield girl on esi website :2thumbs:

Unreal----- always some crazy story with that company.

Modern day snake-oil salesman.

I love my Cal Sci Ex Large because it does a good job, lets cooling air through the center and is not a hugh sail. Look great OMHO!!

I have a CHAD and really like it...once I trimmed off the upper edges. The bracket makes it easily adjustable plus it gives you more places to mount stuff...like GPS, MP3, etc.

I can't say enough positive things about the Madstad mounting system - now improved. I had one on my RS, and used a couple of different shields - including Mark's 22". He now has a 26" to add to consideration.

In all cases, I was able to dial the buffeting out, and keep milage up. A good product will worth the price and consideration.

Hey, Bud.

I tried one of those a couple of years ago and found it totally worthless. Sold it within a week.

It was made from very thin plastic (IMHO) and the air foil provided no additional reduction of buffeting that I could detect.

Thanks, I am 5'10", with a 3" riser...

My wife says she's fine with that...
I would like a larger riser...:roflblack:

It so happens that I have a Madstad shield for the RS spyder.
Needless to say, I have had no head buffeting at crusing speed or at performance test speed.
