Need a muffler for an '08 GS - any suggestions? OEM or A/mkt

Just bought a 2008 GS. It has an aftermarket exhaust on it that might as well be a straight pipe. I’d like to go back to the OEM muffler, but I'm having a hard time finding one. Any suggestions on where to find one or on what’s a good quiet after market muffler? Thanks.


Mod Edit: Please, this thread is only for suggestions on mufflers &/or places to get them for '08 GS Spyders (btw, those same mufflers should also suit any other pre-2013 GS/RS/RSS Spyders, possibly also the ST's?? ); any offers to sell the OP anything should go in the OP's WTB: Ad in the For Sale by Owners section, linked here:

If you are prepared to go after-msrket, you might want to have a talk to one of our Sponsors here; at least a couple of them sell mufflers & cat delete pipes, &/or baffles for mufflers/cat deletes - altho AFAIK, most of a/mkt mufflers available are louder than OEM!

Check out the logo's up toward the top of the page - Lamonster Garage comes to mind immediately, but maybe you coukd also Search on 'RLS Exhausts'. :thumbup:

All the after-market mufflers I've heard are loud even the BRP Akropovic. I think I still have one, I'll check tomorrow .... It's extremely heavy so shipping would be prohibitively expensive ..... Mike :thumbup:

Ebay shows a few. Also google it, you will find some used parts dealers.

I have done some looking, I want a quieter slip on but I don’t think it exists, I found a new old stock Hindle at a dealer, he had two and I bought one but the other has been there for 10 or more years, be a deal
