• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Handlebar mod on your Spyder

Just wanted to share:
I have been trying to resolve this issue with different handlebar positions and finally tried https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/rox-2-pivot-risers-for-1-18-handlebars rather than BRP’s short reach bars. Long and short of it - it worked. The install was very straight forward and without issue. And there was plenty of cable to allow the mod. Just a couple of extra zip ties.

Can you post some pics so we can see how we can do this? I need to modify mine as well....

I’m pleased that the stock look is retained but a lot more adjustment has resulted.

I discovered ROX risers from the adventure touring crowd. My fiancee was having neck and shoulder pain on her bike (FZ6R), and pulling the bars back and up cured it.

Sometimes an inch or two of bar placement can make all the difference. BTW I notice that i have to lean more than i used to on turns with the bars being closer.

When you say "short reach," are you saying you used these as an alternative to the handlebars for tall people? I'm waiting until I get a new seat, but I want some radical adjustments on my handlebars. The longer bar for the brakes was a huge help.

My understanding is that the short bars are for people that need a longer reach. I went with the ROX mod because it had more adjustment than just the bars. I have a Mustang seat and backrest that complete the setup.

RTL Bar

:banghead::banghead: Definitely Not a Go on my 2016 RTL. Not the same set up and or bars. :gaah::gaah: Still looking :chat:

what I did on my RT-S was a set of RSI 5" risers along with 2 pieces of 7/8" steel rod 4" long. the steel rods attach to the existing grip locations and the risers mount to the rods. I had to extend my wires and also install a longer clutch line. but I think with a set of 3" risers I would not have had to extend the wires or the clutch line.
