• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

So I am ryding home from work tonite, going down the highway, doing about 60. I am ryding in the right lane preparing to take my exit,( the wife wanted chocolate cuz she had a rough day and who am I to deprive her right) when in my left mirror I see a car approaching me from the left lane at a high rate of speed. Just as she passed me, and I mean literally passed me she attempts to take the exit right in front of me. My life passes before my eyes and I begin to take action to avoid being crushed, maimed, killed. I see her start to lose control as I am braking and maneuvering to avoid a collision. She fish tails right in front of me, over corrects, and starts carreening towards the ditch on my right side ( keep in mind she is coming from the left lane to cross my lane to get to the exit) flips her car several times and comes to a stop on the side of the car way over on the access road. I get to a place where I can safely stop, call 911 and report this accident. I make my way back to where the police and ambulance are tending to her so that I can give a statement and make sure she is ok. She managed to crawl out of her badly beat up car (rolled it several times) through the now non existent back window. Long story short, she was ok, taken to the hospital as a precaution and to check for injuries. I write my statement, head to WallyWorld for my cookies, gas up and head home. I did however change my shorts before I wrote this. Thank goodness for the stability of the Spyder, Good Motorcycle Training Course, and most of all, Thanks to the Big Guy for watching out for me and giving me another chance to kiss my wife and kids and tell them I love them.

Glad things turned out ok.... this is exactly why you have to drive defensively and what out for idiots.

Glad that you are OK. There is so many idiots out there.....You constantly have to be scanning in front and back of you to watch for these crazy drivers! Hopefully this lady gets a ticket for this crazy driving.

Glad you didn't get clipped ! You see this all the time ! I'm glad the driver was non the worst for wear ,but you just want to give these people a shake and say WT* where you thinking ?

Good for you! You did everything right. Now that you've filed a witness statement which undoubtedly includes your name, etc., don't be surprised if she tries to blame you for causing her to lose control.

Crazy Drivers are Everywhere!!

Great job keeping all the tires on the road!! This type of stuff happens all too often and even worse for us motorcyclists. I hope the other driver learned a lesson even though it would seem to be a hard and painful lesson to learn.

Watching over you.

Glad to hear you are alright Stutz. I believe The Lord was watching over you.
Maybe you can get her to pay for a new pair of shorts. :)

Thanks All

Thanks for all the well wishes ... I am just thankful no one was seriously hurt. I will consult with ol girls insurance and see if I can get them to spring for new shorts

See if they'll pop for a chocolate thick-shake for you too... you certainly earned it! Glad to hear that your only casualty was the shorts.

To be very honest, I was rather amazed at how calm I was during and after everything ... My family says I am always the calmest during adverse situations .... I never seem to panic ....I truly think that is what allowed me to react and avoid disaster during this situation .... once I was sure help was on the way, I made my way thru a neighborhood back to the crash, checked on the lady's status, filled out my report, and went about my buisness.

I'm glad you didn't get clipped, you're very lucky. I'm glad you're doing okay and I agree that the motorcycle safety course teaches us a lot of skills that saves our lives!

Glad you were paying attention. Gotta agree with Lamont. What was the hurry? Whatever it was, the lady driver missed it.

A post on another forum yesterday was reminding us that 50% of drivers are below average - hmmm.
