my spyder mess

i purchased my spyder(09 se5) 10days ago in been in shop for 6days....
on 3rd day check engine light came on and went in limp-home mode and i was bit away from dealer i bought it from (del amo motor sports in redondo beach,ca) so i took the bike to a dealer in ventura,ca(Cal Coast recreation) and after 3hours they came up with bad ecu unit.
they didnt have one in stock and couldnt get one from brp til 4days later
i told them i didnt live there and they offered to pull one out of another spyder for 200bucks that I have to pay out of my pocket cause brp would not pay them to pull parts out of another unit to do the repair.
I had no choice but to pay them so i can get home
after the repair bike quite wasnt the same
spyder have other problems(gears not dis-engaging when i stop,darting,etc
i took it to del amo motor sports on thursday for 300mile service + address other issues, nothing got done til saturday afternoon i brought it back to ride it sunday took it back on monday and i called today to check on it all i got was bike was not ready yet. i got a little upset and told him after 4days i need little more than just "bike is not ready yet". than he said he will talk to mechanic who was assigned to my spyder and came back with everything was checked and all problem was resolved and it just needs a test drive
that was 7hours ago but still no call from them yet....
i told them i am upset because spyder is not ready i am upset because you people dont seem to care how long hold on to my spyder that could been my only form of transportation..... no response for few moments....
by the ecu was changed again i dont know whats going on......
3days i got to ride it was fun but i dont know.....

My guy and the dealer doesnt care for the SE5's

I bought my bike this past saturday and only rode it saturday and sunday before I had to call the dealer about powersteering... turns out it had a bad DPS (power steering module?) and the part is on order. They tell me I wont get my bike till next week... so I think I can relate to your pain

I have a 2008 SE5 and experienced the sticking gear problem. After talking with a BRP service tech on another forum I learned that BRP has a fix for the sticky gear problem. The problem seems to be related to problematic clutch rollers. BRP shipped out different clutch rollers and I had the dealer install them all under warrenty. The problem has not happened since the new rollers were installed. I would strongly suggest that you get you dealers service tech to contact BRP to get more info on the clutch roller problems.

Well almost a month later, I am getting my bike back. Hopefully the issue is resolved.

honda/can am of hollywood found the cause with my gas fume

took spyder in for 600mile service and to see if they can found the cause of gas smell and next they call me and said fuel tank had a very small leak.
they ordered a gas tank and BRP wanted them to over-night the leaky tank. I am sure they are concerned about a leaky gas tank.
i went to dealer and i ran my finger underneath the fold on gas tank and got quite a bit a gas on my finger.
if you read any threads on other people having same problem you will see gas fume got worse as temperature got higher as i experience the same.
gas expanded when it gets hot therefore more smell of gas
they also are gonna install the fog lights alarm 12v plug and run a switched power line for amplifier at much lower rate since all panels were off already

Gas smell

I have had no problems with my spyder, but my husbands has a gas smell coming from his and the dealer hasn't found anything wrong????

I noticed this leaky tank issue more than a few times here already.
