• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Spyder is back. Hard for me to believe.

Just got the word that mine is done(Dps).....might trade it for a 2010.Mine is a brand new 2008.Great dealer in our town,Enns Brothers:firstplace:.I'll see how she steers over the week-end and then make up my mind. The dealer feels good about where the fix is at but will work with me if I decide to get the 2010...

These type of doom and gloom stories are making me reconsider even trying to buy a Spyder.

While maybe a lot on the board have had few problems With my luck I wouldn't be one of the lucky ones.

If I find a used Spyder under warranty, is the anyway to check to see what problems the Spyder has had?

I know the seller should be forthcoming about them, but would like to know for sure, if possible.

i had a lot of gloom but when i do ryde on my spyder, all that is gone.
it takes me to my happy place as others have described it the same way.
i am the one who had 21 warranty repair and waiting for 2 more at least.
there is no other ryde like it on the road, if there was something better, i would have been on it.

on a side note, dealer does not want to keep 8 dollar wheel bearing in stock...
my spyder needs a new rear tire and i asked if my dealer kept rear wheel bearing in stock and they said NO and i asked what happens if a spyder needs a new bearing after they take off the rear tire and answer was, it will stay here till bearing gets here...
i am guessing it's not an item that goes bad often but it's only 8 bucks.... or is it?
i told them to order 2 just in case.

Hello buckey,
What I have experienced here is not all that common. I am sure I am the exception and not the rule. Most people have not had the long down time mine has. As far as reliability goes, it will never become my only mode of transportation. This is what I am hoping for because I plan on keeping this spyder. I am hoping it will give me years of trouble free riding. If it breaks down again for a long period of time, I will have two wheels to tide me over.
I was over at my parents house today talking to my 75 year old mother when she stated she liked me having the spyder. She feels more at ease when I am on three wheels. I can't argue with that. Heck, I'll keep it for that reason alone. If mama's happy, then I'm happy. I love her so much!!!!!!
On the other subject regarding the history of the machine, I would want to know what issues it has has if any before I purchase it. If it did have issues, as long as it were many miles ago, I would not feel uncomfortable purchasing it. You should be able to find out the history of the machine (I believe) just with the VIN number. Don't let this thread stop you. Go test ride one and get hooked. It is a blast to ride and don't forget..... you will be a rock star. :)

I would love to take ride, but the Hayward,Ca dealer on does so weekdays before 2pm. Then is this area it is city traffic or freeway, not exactly what I would want. The Livermore ,Ca dealer has a better place to ride , but no demo bikes, at least what they told me, keep telling me the demo units will be in, Been there 3 times in person ignored the 1st 2 times. So I don't hold out much hope there.

Regarding your shop visits, you have a WHOLE lot more patience then I would. If this were a car I would be after the mfg for a lemon law, thou don't know if this would apply to your Spyder.

Enjoy your new ride hope it works out better.

The dog is real

Totally off topic but do you have a carrier or harness that allows your dog to ride with you or is your avatar just a picture of your dog sitting on your Spyder?

Teddy is a 9lb. Pomeranian who I keep shaved cause he loves to ryde but when he's got his long hair, it turns into a rats nest :gaah: I strap down his doggy bed to the rear seat so it won't go anywhere. I found a "doggy booster seat" at Meijers & it came with a harness to strap the dog in with. Well, it was about $20 so i just ditched the seat cause it was to small for him & now i use the harness to strap him in with. It's got extra padding in the front in case of an emergency stop, he shouldn't be choked. Its got an extra long tether on it that makes it easy to tether to his doggy bed. I also have an enclosed mesh type carrier that we use for those rainy days, tho he prefers to be out in the open. Got the doggles at Pets Mart. I posted some pics of him on the :spyder2: when we took our trip to FL, in my albums on my profile if you care to see more.

Unfortunately, we're both still stuck without the :spyder2: again, been in the shop more than 30 days this time :gaah: think we're both going thru a bit of depression or withdrawal :banghead::banghead::gaah:

Here and I was all set to say how happy I was that you were back on the road, Will wait for the next thread. So sorry man...

I am glad to hear you are pleased with Enns Bros as I am planning to take mine to them for the DPS. I will probably use the dealership in Portage as it is closer to me.
