I always thought that Lucas was The Inventor of Darkness!!! Had an old TR3 with Lucas electrics.. Driving at night and without warning all of the lights would go out... Finally figured out if you hit the dash in a certain spot they would come back on...the good old days..

You're using a 1/4" bolt when you should be using a 5/16. That should fix you right up.
