• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

MY SPYDER CONFESSION................

This is all kind of funny. I have ridden big BMW bikes for years and my wife didn't ever say no but didn't like the idea and would not ride. A few months ago, I went to a local Spyder dealer and checked them out. I decided to take a test ride and comically stated to the salesman that red would be the only thing that may sway my wife. Well, red it was! I rode it home and went in and got my wife. She came out and her first words were, "at least you picked the right color!" She climbed on and said "buy it". We did end up with a RT but not red. It is a white LTD. Now back to your question ----- I have always understood that when a wife does not give a definite NO, it means you have a good chance go winning if you are patient and have good reasons to justify why "you have to have it!"

Enjoy you ride and your wife!!

The story line cracks me up. What a tale! As I started reading it I was seeing Ralphie plotting to get his Red Ryder BB gun. When I bought my first :f_spider:, an RS, I had never sat on nor ridden one. I bought it and had it shipped to me. Got on and am still ryding into every sunset I can afford. :roflblack: Life is Good. Enjoy your new life.

Great story made me chuckle glad my wife told me to buy one LOL so I didn't have to be that creative. :shemademe_smilie::spyder2::welcome:

Great post.

I am in the camp where you want the wife to convince you to upgrade or buy the :ani29:. Large purchases can be the cause of some problems if not agreed to by all the parties. Using Ralphie subtleties are probably the best way to get the :spyder2: you want.

MY SPYDER PICS

Here are the pics I promised. What's not to Love!! I'm still trying to figure out this attaching stuff!! So please bear with me. The odometer reading in the pic is 6238.8 if you can't see it. I don't know how to make them appear any bigger!

Besides I don't think my wife has to much too complain about. I spent more on her Truck than I spent on my Truck and Spyder put together!! That doesn't matter though because what I have learned in being married 23 years is that:

Happy Wife = Happy LIFE!!

But sometimes you do have to stir things Up!!

Our situation is some what backwards,My wife(SDM) always wanted a trike and I discouraged her as trikes are somewhat unsafe(turn too quick and over you go) but one day last March she wanted to go to this bike shop I never heard of to look at something she saw on the internet,so we go and she shows me a Spyder! I had no idea such a trike existed, she sat on one(a sold blue RT-s) and said I want it! The only other RT they had was outside on the flatbed not yet delivered,we bought it without ever even sitting on it,nether one of us has ever been on a motorcycle before and don't have a MC license(not needed for trike in SC). four months later in July I got my RS,so she can't fuss at me for my toy when I bought hers first:yes:

Great reading! Worked on my wife for a year, till she got so tired of finding brocbures, mentioning the TV commercials, showing her magazine ads, and saying "there goes another one!", she finally said " go buy the damnd thing, but the Goldwing has to go!" She didnt have to say it twice! Now she gives me hell and says she misses the Wing!! She makes me ride her Road King, just to pis!!! Me off. Go figure :yikes:

,

Well it's been 15 hours now and she still has NOT noticed the new Spyder RT-S in the garage!!!
now my old '09 RS was Moon Sliver and my new RT-S is Quantum Blue. It's parked right next to her car in the Garage, my car is outside next to my doghouse (we don't have a dog).

What do you think is she planning something? Is this something I should worry about? It's 3:30 am and I can't sleep! Got to keep an eye open, just in case.

If she has not mentioned the :spyder2: after removing her car and re-parking in the garage again--maybe you are okay. "No news is good news"????????:roflblack: Or she like it so much she's speechless??? :roflblack: Flowers can be nice sometimes.

Well still breathing, no wounds and the only comment was "did I change the color? And get a new seat?" My answer is "yup it's blue now instead of silver to match your eyes (her eyes are brown) and the seat is to make you much more comfortable on long rides". The response, oh that's nice. I am still perplexed as to whether she's just playing with me before the other shoe drops or she has already seen the divorce lawyer!
