• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Ryker is fun again - Buffeting gone

Been dealing with a buffeting issue for so long, shaking my head enough to give me headaches and ruining all the fun. All I know is it didn’t seem to be that way before, was it me becoming more sensitive to it? I tried different windshields, different heights, different helmets, no windshield (which got rid of it but I couldn’t deal with the wind force) but eventually I realized the buffeting was caused by air flowing under the handlebars. I can put my hand to cover part of the space and I immediately can feel the buffeting is reduced. I tried to hack some sort of deflector or anything to block the wind to no avail. Was bad enough that I considered selling my Ryker.

Today I got a breakthrough: I removed the handguard wind deflectors. No more buffeting.

Hope this can help someone.

which windshield are you using when you had the buffering issue? I started noticing some buffering at highway speeds and wasn't sure if it was from added wind or what. I have a F4 custom windshield and I also have the wind deflectors. Funny thing is I've had the wind deflectors on since winter time and just started noticing a buffering on my helmet. It's starting to give me headaches while riding highway speeds.

I had the buffeting with the F4 windshield as well as with the BRP adventure windshield. After removal of the wind deflectors it is 90% better with the BRP windshield and and i would say 50% better with the F4. Very unscientific of course. For me, the best combo is with the adventure windshield which is significantly lighter and makes a noticeable difference in the feel of the steering.

Following your advice, I've done the same with the same effect. Thank you.

Also, could it be that my fuel economy has improved? It seems so.,

I originally planned to add the LED lights into my handguards but...2 years later and I still haven't done it so I think I'm going to remove them and see how it feels. I have the Puig windshiled , which is slightly bigger than the original Ryker windshield. It works great for me but I notice a buffeting on my forearms so I'm curious if the buffeting is being caused by the handguards or not.
