• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My right leg gets hot!!!

I have been searching the Threads. Can someone help me??? My right leg gets very hot when out riding. :gaah:
Any solutions anybody??? Thanks!!!

I wrapped the headers with exhaust wrap and it keeps quite a bit of heat off my legs. You can get it at any Auto Zone. It comes in 50' lengths by 1" I cut the lengths down to about 12' long you can just overlap it where the length ends and its much easier to wrap. A pair of forceps helps mine are long nosed so I can get in behind and clamp the piece and fish it through. Some people have taken off the headers to do it but I did it in place and it did not take that long. Get some hose clamps to hold it on I was not impressed with the stainless tie wraps they sell to do this.:spyder2:

Unless you have a lot of miles (5,000 or more) on your Spyder - then I doubt the problem is the Y gasket.

Try some tin foil around your leg------:roflblack:

Thing things run pretty hot under all that tupperware--- something you just kind of get used to.

Buy a $3 plastic 3 ring binder. The flexible cover is great for extending the cowl scoop. Rivit a piece to the scoop and it'll send more air out the side openning. Others have added foam to completely seal that bottom openning. You can buy the spider web from Mel's Garage, and add a Radio Shack fan behind it, that will suck the air from the area behind the radiator and push it out the side openning.

I took a piece of sound /heat installation. About 8"x6" and glued in the scoop. Went for a ride today. No heat, nothing. All the hot air from the fan goes out the scoop. Plus the fan over ride works great too.:ohyea::ohyea::yes::yes::bowdown::clap:

At the joint where the HIndle get bolted I have a leak as well, I have taken it off three time now and used three different exhaust gasket seal and after a few hundred miles the back fire is back and sure the leak is back. I which I could find something that would hold so there will be no more leak, I was wondering if I could use something like liquid nails or one of those joint compound putty that you mix the two parts together to make one (like Mighty Putty https://www.mightyputty.com/flare/next ) and apply that around the outside anyone tried this before.

Don't do that, it doesn't last, not flexible enough. I know the backfire is annoying but it sounds so much better with the Sport that I got used to depress the clutch slightly to avoid it and it's a habit now. Bombardier is working on a different connector, when it comes out we should request a free retrofit, in our dreams.
I know it's not worthy of a good rider and looks geeky but I ride in Cargo Bermudas most of the time, sue me, so my legs now are about well done, I just spread them and look weird once on a while.

Take a regular motorcycle for a ride then come back and take your :spyder:for a ride and then ask does my leg realy get hot :D

Poor design. Simple as that.
the vent should not be pointed to your right feet.
The spyder gets really hot and all that hot air goes straight to the right feet. I
I live in S. Flo and is always hot. ride the spyder for 30mins or longer and your feet gets super hot n when you are waiting on a traffic light is almost impossible to keep your feet on the peg.. it gets that hot.

Im going to try 2 things; 1. wrapping the headers with exhaust wrap.
Hopefully that will work... ;)
2. create a carbon fiber scoop and then try to re-direct the air...

I just talked to BRP about this and people have not make complaints about this particular issue to them.
It seams that people are just working around the issue:dontknow:
I think the air should be re-directed... just my 2 cents.

Who did you talk to at BRP? :dontknow: At the Transformers event, the Spyder bigwigs stated that they have a group of people who read through the various forums first thing every day. I think someone at BRP knows about it. The problem is the time involved in getting the information to the proper people at BRP, then having them determining if they are going to find a solution, then taking the time to actually find a solution and then additional time for them to implement their solution.
