• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

my personal thought, no reports on crashes and deaths.

If there is a malfunctioning of the can am. Good to know but hate to come on a forum and get bummed out over a collision.

I WOULD THINK THAT NO MATTER WHAT TYPE OF VEHICLE YOU PICK, you will find accidents with them. lets face it, motorcycle are dangerous. don't get discouraged, this forum has many members that put thousands of miles on their bikes, and sometimes posts about accidents are done to not only tell us what happened, but to also see if the person was a member, and did anyone know him or her.

:agree: We hope to keep tabs on one another, and maybe by learning about what happened; it can make all of us safer riders.

Reality isn't a bad thing. It keeps us connected to life as it really is. Fantasy's are fine as long as you keep one foot in the real world. This is especially true when riding a motorcycle.

The fact is that it isn't always the other guys fault. Each of us knows there are times when we are pushing the envelope, that at times we are not as alert as we should be. If we learn from the mistakes of others, everyone wins.

Stuff can happen no matter where you are or what you're doing. 33 years in the fire service taught me that you need to live your life with reasonable caution. But that noting you do will keep you safe from every possible situation. It is important to enjoy life to the fullest today. As tomorrow is not guaranteed for any of us.

Celebrate with those who are happy, grieve with those who have suffered loss. And do your best to improve as many lives as you can.

If the title of the post indicates it may contain subject matter you are not comfortable reading you can always just skip that post.

I kind of know where you're coming from on that. I saw the title of the latest thread, felt a sickness in my stomach and thought I'll give that one a wide berth. Had enough personal experience of that stuff to not want to read/speculate about it.

Unfortunately there's always the spectator mode that some people have for stuff like that, same as slowing down on the highway to rubberneck at accidents.

The main thing is the title of the thread makes it clear what it's about and so you can avoid it - that's what I do. Same as I look straight ahead when passing an accident.

Believe it or not, Lamont had posted early on that it was not the intent of spyderlovers to post accidents. Of course that was a number of years ago; maybe his feelings have now changed.

Lamont, if you read this, and you feel I have misquoted you, let me know so that I can delete this post.

Still get the "Urge"

I used to ride Sport bikes and often liked to "air them out" a bit . The odd time I feel like doing it on the Spyder but seeing the odd post about accidents makes me think twice and realize ( thankfully ) that I'm kinda important to my family .....and I appreciate the scenery more when it's not a blur 🐌
