There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. MY new Spyder RT Ltd 2024 O/S PANNIER WILL NOT OPEN!

Hi, has anyone got the answer to my problem? We went out for a ride and at the cafe stop my dear lady put her helmet inside the O/S Pannier, she did not lock it. After breakfast we came back to the Spyder, and we could not open the pannier - IT'S NOT LOCKED! I tried pushing it with my body and legs to get it to release while pulling up on the lever, but to no avail. Tried punching, it all sorts; it's as though the latch is stuck, and if I pull any harder on the lever, it will break! So I rang the dealer, he's 230 miles away, and he says to call back Monday when they have a mechanic in the shop. I just wondered if anyone here knows how to help? Christine came back pillion with no helmet and her hair is not at the best - she says "Oh dear!" Good old UK roads...

When she put it in there and close the door did it shut hard, or did it close right up easy? It's in the side bag right?

On my 2021, I reached underneath and pulled toward me and up and used my hip to push toward other side of bike closer to the top, pulled the lever and it popped. Tightened all nuts and working much better now.

There is a cable under the bag. Look up through the opening underneath. Tom :spyder:

I think it was too tight of a close with a slam maybe :( It's the off-side, or in other language, the right-side pannier. I had my drone and stuff in the on-side/left pannier, and it was fine.

I hope your 2024 is like my 2020, in that I was able to reach up behind the releasing lever and adjust the cable that operates the side case lid mechanism. It took a couple of tries, but the side case finally opened. (The side case cables were later replaced).
Cheers

OK thanks for all your suggestions, I can report that I've fixed the problem. I should have YouTube'd it on my channel, but I forgot!! What I did was to remove the passenger seat; then the 2 x self-tappers holding a plastic trim around the rear grab handle, which gave me visual access to see the door latch cable mechanism. I just tapped the cable and pushed it then released the pannier door. I removed Christines helmet, and it was all good. I tried to make the fault happen again but no, it all seemed fine. So I re assembled the trim and the seat and took it for a spin all was good. At least now I have learned how to remove rear seat and how to get access to the door latch control... Back to my video on the Go Pro 13 Bluetooth to Dji mic 2 on my you tube channel... the Go Pro ain't doing what it says too!! At least today here in the UK we've got great sunny weather.

Great news. But you may still have to SHORTEN that cable - not un-common .....Mike

And watch what you put in there, if the door closes with resistance and it locks that way the only thing you can do is push hard on the door before you hit the latch and hope it pops! But you have the key for success now!!

They should make it central locking like the Honda Goldwing.

Had a 2020 RTL and did not like the latch handles. Traded for a 2022 F3L Limited and has a much better design for the panniers. No issues with the F3 setup.
