• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My new spyder hauler!!!

I should also update on this thread. After a few test loads on the trailer, I didn't like how close the spyder got to bottoming out on the pivot point on the transfer between the ramp and the trailer deck. That was on perfectly flat ground... SO, I went back and paid a few extra bucks to switch from the straight end gate to the bi-fold ramp. It adds 9 extra inches to the length of the ramp and also has a slight arch to it. there is ZERO chance of it bottoming out now. The slightly longer ramp makes the rear tire start to climb the ramp before you crest the center point of the bike and the arch helps too. The only downfall is that it's kinda awkward to wrestle in place. I think it was $180 dollar upgrade.

The trailer looks nice and will function just fine, I'm sure. I was looking at a Baxley's trike trailer for nearly twice the cost. Don't know that its worth it just so it will drop to the ground for easy, no-drag loading. http://www.baxleycompanies.com/TrikeTrailer.html

My new hauler

I prefer to enclosed my Spyder for long hauls. For security and protection from weather and road debris. Upgraded from a 6 X 12 to a 7 X12.799175924_2832124601_0.jpeg

. Imho, $5,900 would buy a nice enclosed trailer. I think the "no drag" is minimal with the huge front shield on that trailer and especially when you compare it to a open trailer with a bi-fold end gate. I would also much rather have an aluminum constructed trailer. They hold their value and are rust free. For pulling ease, I'd put a 68" x 10' Aluma up against that baxley. The 6810 weighs 440lbs vs 1,020 so you'd be lugging around a lot less weight.
