• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My new Diamond J Customs front shocks install!

I have installed a set of front shocks by Diamond J Customs on my 2022 Spyder S2S with 6k miles. I used a 20% off code, but there is another one for 25% off now (that code is SUMMER25). I haven't found any 'How to' videos or reviews, so here I am. I am still trying to get them adjusted, but so far, the ride is much better than stock. The web site has some generic instructions but nothing for the Spyder RT. I checked the length and figured I could make it fit.

Installing the shocks: The shock eyes are about half inch smaller in width than the originals, but the new shocks come with several flat washers. I installed 3 washers on the back side, which keeps the shocks centered in the A arms. There are 2 retainer clips on the plastics that cover the shocks and one is over the shock. I tried to save both clips and ended up scratching the 1st shock a bit. I will get touch up paint to fix it, hopefully. I ended up cutting the front female clip retainer off just behind the shock. The 2nd shock I covered the reservoir with plastic and got no scratches. I lined up the plastic over the shock and marked the center and a quarter of an inch out on both sides, then cut a half moon about an inch deep with a Dremel. Took it out for a spin after doing some adjusting and made sure nothing was touching the side of Shocks. On my test ride, I found the right side very smooth, but the left has some bounce still. I will check that all adjustments are the same before I check the tire. If anyone has some pointers on adjusting remote reservoir shocks I would greatly appreciate it. The springs have been the most frustrating because I didn't know where to start, so I measured the old springs and stated an inch longer at 10 inches and ended up at 9. To set the reservoir knobs, I used the website video, but ended up going all in and back out 2 to 4 clicks. Like I said, I am still working on it. I am not affiliated with this company in any way. I liked what I saw, the price was right and I figured it was worth a try.

Try looking at some Dave Moss, "Two Clicks Out" videos. OK, he's talking about road and track use, but he's the most knowledgeable person online I've seen about setting up sag and damping. Much of what he says may well be applied to your Spyder.

In fact, I ride my Spyder by the same technique that he teaches new track day riders to do when they start out. The reality is for me, the Spyder likes to be ridden like this, "brake, turn, power."

He's a very knowledgeable guy with years of experience setting up many brands and types of bike and he explains things in a very straight forward way that's easy to under stand. He works with tape measures for sag, no guessing. How he reads tires from track riders is quite something. He's an entertaining guy to listen to.
