My New Comfort Seat Plugs In Where?

So, at the end of last year I got a new "comfort seat". I tried to install it myself, then took it to the dealership because I thought they could use a laugh. We ordered the parts, they installed it. I noticed a trouble light was on as I rode home. I figured it was something simple and I looked at it today.

There is a cord with a weird plug that is not plugged in sitting on the body of the tryke. I cant figure out where to plug it. Don't see anything but foam. Help?

The comfort seats are NOT heated seats. I am guessing the "unplugged" item is for the rear portion of the seat. It is a switch that depends on a person sitting on the passenger part of the seat. This is the connection to the "nanny." The nanny works differently when there are solo persons or passengers aboard. I have not heard that a light goes on when the connection is unplugged.

Unheated. Still getting fault code that the pillion detection switch is loose. Cant see where to plug it in.

What your dealer should have done was to transfer the pillion rider switch from your old seat to the new seat. It’s right there in the install instructions that they should have been reading. That’s why you have the warning light. Go back and have them do the rest of the job right. That switch pigtail then plugs into that empty plug you have on your pic.

Doug is in the bull's-eye. See where the pillion rider switch is on the bottom of my comfort seat. When the switch is connected, the plug and receptacle assembly is stuffed down into the rectangular hole.

He didn't have the old seat. BUT he did order a bunch of parts; could have ordered a switch had he thought of it....

Yes, that's the correct part number - 75 bucks - plus you'll need some miscellaneous hardware to mount it to the bottom of the seat. Keeping in mind, that this should not be your problem, or your cost. The switch from the old seat was supposed to be re-used. But, that's up to you. Good Luck.

So, I got the switch. Tried to install it by myself and was almost successful: duct tape finished the job.
What I had the worst problem with was re-attaching the shock stick that holds the seat up. That little metal c clamp got shot all over the street. For now, its sitting in my glove box for the next time I have to take the Spyder in. The tech can chase that little )#!&!#@*%!
