My New 2014 RT S SE-6

I got some info, don't count it as gospel until we sign the dotted line. Rebates are on 13's. 4 year warranty is for any Spyder sold before the end of month (October), including 14's. Like I said, don't mark my word, but that was also from a reputable dealer. Of course the info they are getting may be wrong, but there is a ray of hope.

I will be honest here... I don't care what price they are offering on a 2013 new. I really don't want one.
I paid $16.5K in June this year for a 2011 RTS with only 450 miles on it. Basically new.
No issues and now I have 3000 miles on it so far.
Trust me... MANY 2011's and 2012's are available used with less than 1000 miles on them! I see it on Criag's list all the time. At least out here in Cali.
It I wanted the handling of the 2013 on my 2011, I would put Ron's swaybar on it, Shock relocators, and be good to go.
Even if I could sell my 2011 for say 16K and get a 2013 for less than that, I would not do it. Sorry.
Oh and personally (yes I am biased) I do not like the look of the 2013's anyway :)

Folks, read the fine print on the sale announcement!

It says:

4-Year Extended Warranty: Eligible units are new and unused 2011 to 2013 Can-Am Roadster models. The buyer of a 2011, 2012 or 2013 unit will receive the 24-month BRP Limited Warranty plus an 24 month B.E.S.T. extended service contract subject to a $50 deductible on each repair. Exception for Florida residents who will receive the 24-month BRP Limited Warranty plus an additional 24-month BRP Limited Warranty. See your participating BRP Can-Am dealer for all details and to receive a copy of the BRP Limited Warranty and B.E.S.T. contract.
You left out "Up to $3000 rebate on Select Models" That means RTL probably less on RTS & RT and even less on ST and RS.

The first release is usually a bad time to buy or trade most anything....financially that is. I still think the 2013 will end up being a great ride, but with folks rushing to dump theirs will only prolong any fixes and further soften a somewhat questionable 2013 market.

The dealer closest to me has (28) 2013s listed at 7K off and a free warranty. They are obviously stuck with them, so as said above, there's not much reason to take in another on trade. Things will settle down, but timing is key, if $$$ matter.

I certainly hope the 2014s are all they are being hyped to be. I don't really get why BRP changes things so frequently though. Seems they'd get a far better ROI sticking with something and perfecting it, before moving to the next.

The 2010s through 2012s all settled down and turned into great machines. Now, the 2013s are the odd balls. That's never good from a R&D and support perspective.

+1000!!!!

Well said IMHO

No i ordered a timeless black one, what color did you order?

Cruzr Joe

White, RTS-SM6

I ordered a 2014 RTS Limited in Pearl White and if I'm lucky and the stars & moon line up I'll get it end of March, after all it has to come more then 300 miles from the plant .:dontknow:

From what I've heard you probably aren't too far off. But I think January is more like what I heard for the white SE models

Incentives on the old--but I am guessing on no incentives for the 2014 RT's. They have us so hyped up that we will do almost anything to get our hands on one.

Still waiting to hear if some dealers are going to try the premium price jab if they think they can get away with it. Hope I am wrong, but car dealers do it all the time on new and wonderful.
.
Shhhhh. Don't give them any ideas.

Bob, is yours a SE or SM?

Bikefest is going on in Las Vegas this weekend and my dealer has a display there with a 2013 RTS SE5 with a price tag of $19,999 and a ST Ltd with a price of $21,999. He took delivery of 3 - 2013 RTs with the special pricing on them because of the show. I have a friend who is looking to buy the 2013 and another friend who is looking to buy this guys 2011. If my 2013 hadn't burned up I think I would have been crying when I saw that price tag. I believe that MSRP on the 2013 RTS SE5 was $27,999. :banghead:

Bob, is yours a SE or SM?

SM all the way which I know you prefer as well.

I really like that I got a SM over the SE for many reasons argued here many times on SL.

Yes, I did ride an SE before deciding on the SM.
One thing I like about the SM is I can decide when to shift up or down, and in a "unknown" corner, feathering the clutch is a good thing :)

I agree 100%. The reason I asked was to try to get an idea of how much the 2011 RT is worth. I have the friend who wants to buy the cheap 2013 another friend who doesn't want to over pay for that guys 2011.

I wound up getting my new 2013 RT-S for $19,999. MRSP was around $27,400 I believe. I did not receive a free warranty though. Just the standard 2 year. I then paid $749 for an extra 3 yr B.E.S.T. warranty. I don't regret buying the 2013 over a 2014 as I never would have paid $28K for a Spyder but really wanted the RT model. Fortunately I am not experiencing any heat problems yet. I just wish I could get more than 150 miles per tank :(.

It's actually not the WORST limitation...
Taking a break, and stretching the legs every couple of hours is usually a good idea!

13's

the dealer i went to said can am gave them a big discount on the left over 13's, like 20% off their price so dealers have plenty of them to sell. the guy i was talking said a 13 rt/s ltd was going for 21,995 and i paid 28,000

I'm with Bob. I bought a used 2011 AC SE5 with 7000 for 15K I now have 12k and will probably ride it till the rims are gone.

Made my deal this morning... :barf:
The trade-in prices have taken a beating... those BIG rebates on the leftover 2013s is rough on the rest of us.
Anywho; My dealer gave me $1500 over tradei-on on my 2010 A&C That's $1500 over the trade-in value of an RTS... my farkles did turn out to be worth a litttle bit! Then, he knocked $500 of the list price, and threw in the chrome adjustable air deflectors, and a mirror for the top trunk...
...And it's coming in November; the first bike that they're getting!!:ohyea::yes::2excited:
Now I've just got to figure out how to pay for the thing... :yikes: ;)
But it's coming pre-farkled!!! :D

Glad to hear that you have a dealer willing to work with you and not taking advantage of you or the situation. Fair treatment is what counts here.

Eagerly awaiting your thoughts once you get the new :spyder2:, get on board, and start recording some miles.

Paying for it? That's another question. :roflblack: Sure you don't want a Genuine RT-S Premier Edition as a back up bike for only $40,000? Note--I have lowered the price by $5,000 just for you. :roflblack::roflblack:

Now; How do you need that check made out? Is $1,500 enough??

2014 RT-S

Just ordered my new 2014 YELLOW Rts in Manual from them too, they told me as well, in november :-)
