• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Krikit won't click

It clicked on 3 different measurements--then the click part disappeared. How to fix--what causes the click beside belt level tension. simple looking device--yet I can't get it to click:banghead:
Any ideas???

Mine did the same thing some time ago. Thought it was broke. Even bought another one. The other day I was goofing around with it and it started working again. Now it works fine. I think it must have gotten stick clicked out and somehow I was able to undo that. Best I can suggest is play around with it and it may start working.

I had one that did the same thing. Never could get it to click. Called the mfg and they said take it back where I bought it from and get a new one. Bought my first one from Napa years ago and haven't had any issues since. If you cant get it to work give them a call. They were very helpful in my case.

Let's see....

Pop by your local pet store and get a new cricket...:roflblack: you might give it a shot of WD-40 and press between your forefinger and thumb a few times. That's where the clicker is but I don't see how you get in there....

I've sprayed it with WD40, oil penetration stuff by WD40, electrical contact cleaner. I'm thinkin one of you guys stole my krikit clicker--now bring it back please:thumbup:nojoke:f_spider::popcorn:...

Fixed the KRIKIT--Solution

I contacted the seller, he said. you might try hitting the top end, (round flat which has the clip), hard on a table. Do this a few times to reseat the ball bearing.
I hit it fairly hard 5 times--no work--then I hit it 10 times really hard------- & now it works.

Just picked up a 91132 (Gates) from Amazon that would not click. Spoke with Gates and they commented there have been problems with units that might have been on the shelf (old new stock) for a prolonged period. Tried the smack it on a bench-method and now it works (Thank you)! I'd be reluctant to add any lubricant at all, and if I did I would be sure to use one that is compatible with plastics. I'm tempted to disassemble to get a look at the clicker, clearly there is a spring-loaded pivot mechanism internal to the end where the pocket clip is... note the roll pin is the pivot point. Gates was unwilling (not surprising) to provide an exploded view, but otherwise polite!
