My impressions of my 2020 F3 Limited Dark

I have a little over 1000 miles on my new F3L and am loving it.

It is much smoother shifting and riding than my RS.

It handles great, soaks up a lot of bumps.

My wife loves the additional room and the passenger armrests.

Fuel range is in the 200 mile per tank area, so I am happy with that. 125 to 130 was my range on the RS.

It is quiet, and I like that.

Very comfortable to ride for me and my wife. Floorboards are in position 5 and it fits me very well.

BRP connect has been working OK for me, will see when I purchase the helmet intercoms. Seriously looking at the Cardo and Lexin systems.

The Magma Red and Black, with black wheels gets a lot of comments.

Biggest negative is that the riding season in Iowa is coming to a close and it will have to sit in storage for 4-5 months, depending on what kind of winter we have.

Overall I am very pleased with this F3L. Hoping to take a day trip with the wife next week to check out some fall colors.

I have the stock windscreen, and I don't plan on replacing it at this time. Seems to work fine for me.

I dunno DP, that all sounds pretty good except for the 'sit in storage for 4-5 months' bit; but surely studded tires and heated riding gear could overcome the minor issue of winter being cold & icy/snowy?? :dontknow:

I ride pretty much all year round here in Oz, and it's only half a World away! Heck, I've even been known to spend a day riding the 1000 miles or so (each way) just to spend a weekend riding thru the snow in our Snowy Mountains!! nojoke Dunno what's stopping you lot?! :roflblack:

RE: Studded tires

Most states do not allow them. They put tire ruts in the road system.

PS. They were allowed in AK. Dealer tried them and got tired of them very fast. You can go, but stopping on ice is pretty tricky. The Spyder does not plow well through snow either. Two inches or so and the back wheel just spins.

Studded tires are legal in Iowa, issue is ground clearance and hard ice that builds up on the road makes even driving a SUV challenging during the winter. Some years I can ride into early December and than again get back out in March. But there is so much chemical de-icer on the roads that it coats everything and pits metal.

Aaaahhhhh, the Rio Grande Valley of Texas! I might have up to 6 weeks that ryding is unpleasant, but other than that, the season is year-round!
And that's why I left Missouri behind. :yes:

Beats waiting for it to snow at MT Lofty ..... Every 20 years or so. ...

Living in Ontario Canada, I ride till they drop salt or brine then the season is done till the spring rains wash it all away and the street sweepers pick up all the sand in the intersections and corners. That could be as late as early January and as early as March .. I will ride in minus Celsius temps, i have the right gear, but salt and brine dust gets into every nook and cranny, you never get it out and it just rusts everything.
