• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My First Trike Trek

Bought my 2015 RT Special Series red/black almost three weeks ago, and I have about 600 miles on it. Tomorrow I head out on a trip that will surely add another 900 plus. https://trips.furkot.com/ts/yke8zq This gives a map and outline of my run. I'll write about it on TrikeTrek.com, my little blog on my rides.

I've mounted my car style Garmin GPS on my windshield, with a cord tied to the bike and the gps just in case the suction cup/windshield mount breaks free. I have more pictures of that on my site... or will soon.

Again, more pictures at TrikeTrek.com

I am worried about the heat, for it is scorchingly hot up here, by Seattle standards. Just under 100 in Portland yesterday. All fans in the city are sold out, so I couldn't even find a small fan to take with me for the AIRBNB places I am staying at. I start at a horse ranch that helps the handicapped ride horses, with the funds I am paying going to support the ranch.

Then, I head toward a friends in Bend, Oregon.

Gratz on the new ride!

There's quite a few of us down south of you in the Portland metro area. We braved the heat, and went on a covered bridge ride last Saturday, and had a blast!

Quick question, on the 2015 RT isn't the first scheduled maintenance done at 600 miles?

old engine vs new

I've seen this come up several times in the forum. Old engine VS new. If the manual says 600 miles, others here say it is wrong. It was right for the old engine, not for the 1330. When I check the online service schedule that is supported.

With the 1330 motor, the first oil change is at 5,000 kilometres which I think works out to be 3,000 miles.

My 2014 RT owners manual says first service at 3000 miles and second service at 9000 miles or one year whichever comes first. Since I only had 1300 miles after one year, I had to have the 9000 mile service first. When I asker BRP customer service about doing the 3000 service at one year, they told me the warranty would be voided if I did it.
