I have had my Spyder just under 2 months and I hit my 5,000 mile mark this morning. I pulled over at 4,999 to get ready for a nice camera shot. My cell phone is having issues saving photos, so I brought my nice digital camera with me to take a photo. Safely pulled over, put on my hazard signals, opened my frunk, grabbed my camera, and...no SD card!
So, camera on phone = Negative and digital camera = Negative :banghead: My day started out horrible, and now it is only getting worse by the minute. :gaah:
My husband had borrowed my camera last night, and right before he walked out of the bedroom to go play with his rifles and take photos with MY camera, I tell him...I NEED THE SD CARD. Of course, this morning he doesn't remember that part of the conversation. Oh, you mean MY SD card? I took that out to upload MY photos of MY rifles. Oh, okay...thank you.
Now the good part...
As I am ready to break down in fake tears, feeling down that I missed this opportunity, a perfect stranger on a motorcycle pulls over and asks me if I need anything? I told him that I cannot use my cell phone or camera to take a photo of this fabulous event in my life, and he offers to take one for me. So, he gets out his phone, takes a quick photo, and emails the photo to me. So although this photo attached isn't high def - it is a piece of artwork to me
I wished I had gotten his name, but I thanked him profusely, shook his hand and off we went. Got to work and there was the photo. There are still really nice people out there!
5,000 so far...
I have had limp mode happen to me twice, shut her off and started her back up without any problems. I ran out of gas on Monday and hubby was kind enough to bring me a gallon of gas on HWY 4. Thanks, Honey. (I really think I was jinxed because the same day there were numerous postings on running out of gas, and of course I have bragged about how this has NEVER happended to me - ugh)
The only changes we have made so far:
1. New lights on the back - tripleplay (to been seen better).
2. Ram Mound for my Droid.
3. Upgraded my windshield at the dealership before I rode her off the lot.
I have not felt the need (so far) to change the handle bars, foot pegs, or exhaust. The RSS already comes with a comfy seat and upgraded shocks. I really enjoy her and love her just the way she is. Having said that - full disclaimer - I am sure I will eventually get peer pressured into adding a few things. Thank you to those of you that have helped me on this forum with the questions I have had along the way and for the countless hours some of you have spent taking video showing us newbies what to do, or not to do.
Here's to my next 5k...:firstplace:
