• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My F3 ryde report

I'm two days in and little over 200 miles so I feel I can add some things...

Here is my setup:
-Pegs on 5 (I'm 6'1")
-Bars are in the stock position
-Gauge Spoiler
-Stock Seat

I agree with everything that's been said by other owners. This thing corners like a dream. The shifting is smooth and breaking is great. So I won't beat that horse anymore.

Alignment is off and it pulls to the right. I'm fortunate enough to live in the same town as Squared Away so I'll have them laser align it instead of dealing with my dealer. My dealer is good but to me the time and effort it would take for them to fix it and deal with the "alignment conversation", I'd rather have Ann and Joe do it right and save me time.

My dealer didn't have the U-Fit mechanism setup in the showroom yet so I couldn't try out different bars. After my 200 miles I'm pretty sure I'd be more comfortable with the longer reach bars.

Spoiler.... I picked up the Bell Rogue helmet recently (I figured I'd pick up a new lid for my new ryde). It's a 3/4 gimmick. Ridding freeway at 80 was bareable and I didn't feel like my head was being whipped around. Being a 3/4 helmet it was loud. I've since grabbed earplugs and put them in the frunk for my next extended freeway ride. I rode the demo unit with the taller windshield with my full face helmet on the freeway and the wind forces felt the same to me. I see the rationale for why folks would want a taller screen but for me, they just aren't tall enough and I think they kill the styling of the F3 (to each their own).

It can't always be sunshine, rainbows and unicorns...

Hot foot... It was about 75 yesterday and I could feel heat on my right foot. Was it scorching? No. Was it noticeable? Yes. Maybe it has to do with my leg position. Will it impact enjoyment? Probably not but I'll defer judgement until it's 110 outside.

Hot seat... The coolest temp I rode in was around 60 and I want to say that after about an hour my rear was a little warm. Was it me? Was it heat coming up through the seat? Was it just the seat getting hot sitting in the sun before my ryde? Some might call this a "feature" in cooler weather but in the summer this might be uncomfortable. Time will tell so I also defer until more mile are logged..

If BRP called me and said they would refund 100% of my purchase to give the thing back I would tell them no way (but they should get me a laser alignment)!

This is the Spyder I've always wanted.

Nice Report

I think you hit the nail on the head on a few things. Why the factory can't get the wheels aligned correctly is a mystery to me. For what these machines cost they should be. I only differ with you on a few little things and they are mostly based on personal preferences. I'm just an old motorcycle guy who is spoiled and needs his windshield as I wear a half helmet & sunglasses, again just a personal preference. I'd also add the tall passenger backrest for carrying my wife who is only a year younger than me and is spoiled, needing one. We also like to take our rain gear, sunglasses, sunblock etc. so there will be saddlebags, but that's our personal preference. That is what is so cool about the F3 as it can be configured so many different ways. Thanks for your report.

I think the saddlebags will be something I add also.

The rear backrest I think is a must if you ride 2 up. Not only for passenger comfort but for safety as well.

Good to hear..!!

nice review. Keep us up to date as the weather changes. Looks like a nice match...:2thumbs::ohyea:

I think you were just all hot and excited about your new F3. I rode the same ride as you and I was cool and comfortable. :roflblack: We are looking forward to getting it squared away for you.

We were out riding late today and the temperature was in the low 70s. On my previous bike, I wore motorcycle boots and the bike was notorious for a hot foot. Wearing jeans, running shoes and running socks tonight on the F3, I noticed just a whisper of heat blowing back on my feet and lower legs. It was a pretty narrow band of warm-ish air. I don't think it will be a problem... My pegs were in the #3 stock position, so I'll see if I notice any difference when I get them moved to #4 or #5. I'm guessing there won't be a noticeable difference.
