• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Thanks for the links. My husband is retired Army and when I first married him I can remember the Army Times newspaper would have a pull out section once a year that gave details on all military installations. It had info on location, temps, amenities etc and I would read about every Army post and decide if I could live there or not. Ft. Irwin was the only place that made the absolute no way would I ever live there! I loved this quote from your link "Ft. Irwin is located in the geographic center of the middle of nowhere. It's not at the end of the world, but you can see it from there."

Well now that I live pretty close to the middle of nowhere I think I'll have to make a trip there someday.
