I took my 8 year old daughter out on a practice ride yesterday. Her father told me that unless I get a back rest I have to keep her on roads that are under 35 MPH, so I moved her to day camp that is in my community so she can ride in the mornings and afternoons with me.
I purchased a helmet for her, pretty pink skulls LOL, she loves it. She wears my extra jacket and gloves, which are a little big, but not bad believe it or not. My question is what do I do about her legs? She wears shorts to camp and I don't want to make her change when she gets there. The camp is roughly 1.5 miles from my house, is it necessary for me to find her some pull away jeans so she can ride to camp or do you think shorts are OK for that short distance?
By the way my daughter starts her visual therapy tonight, it is going to be a long 48 weeks, but worth it in the end. The doctor said that we have to keep her motivated because the therapy is going to be hard work, so I think that promise, weather permitting, of a trip on the Spyder is good incentive and she is really excited.
