• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. My Can-Am Spyder Roadster '400 mile' report...

I have just about 400 miles on my Spyder Roadster now. It is everything I hoped it would be.

And, not to mention; my Wife loves it, too! With the exception of about 100 miles, she's been riding with me. She feels very secure, and loves the backrest system.

So far, the craziest thing about all of this, is that I had been battling a bad cold since a week ago Thursday - just 2 days prior to taking delivery of the Spyder. Finally, it reached a point (yesterday am) that I knew, I needed to go the doctor. It's a nasty viral infection. So; I got antibiotics, and a sinus shot. I feel a whole lot better, already.

So, I only took the Spyder to work on Monday (it was 52 degrees that morning). I figured the way I was feeling worse as the week progressed, riding the Spyder probably wasn't such a good idea. The doctor told me that riding didn't promote this at all. I was getting sick, and that was that. Good news!

Anyway; I'm riding today. And, right now, it's 45 degrees. It will be brisk. But, I'll be warm, and by mid-day, it will be really nice (75-85). We have a bike trip planned this weekend to the Shiloh Civil War Battleground State Park. This is a trip planned by our Can-Am/Victory dealer. Should be a lot of fun! It will be around a 300 mile day.

Riding 2 up on the Can-Am Spyder is very comfortable. I'm 6'4". My Wife is 5'5". I hardly notice her behind me. In any gear, at any speed; when I roll the throttle, the Spyder pulls very hard. I am very impressed with it's power. As most of you know, the dry weight of the Spyder is 697lbs. It has 106hp at the rear wheel, and 77ft. lbs. of torque.

The Power is there!

My next mod will be a Garmin Zumo 450 GPS. Then; helmet to helmet communications. For longer rides - overnight, and such, I am going to buy some Cortech or Nelson-Rigg soft bags. I just want bags that will be there when I need them - ones that are easily removed when not in use.

I arrived home last night chomping at the bit to take the Spyder out. I rode about 29 miles. It was great! I went west to Oakland for just a little in-town cruise (2 stoplights Lol!), then back around down highway 64 heading east again so I could stretch it's legs - up to 70+mph. Then onto some nice 2 lane country road riding. The temps were between 67-72 degress. It was nice.

Here are a few photos that were taken Sunday am when ZZ (Tim) joined us for the 'breakfast ride'. This little place is 58 miles east of our house, all the way out highway 64. And, the food was great! I had the biggest Western Omelet ever!! Lol! And, Jean and Tim enjoyed Steak and Eggs.

This was day two of Spyder ownership. By the end of the day, Jean and I had clocked 165 miles.

At Chickasaw State Park later in the day..

Greg H, hope I can keep up with your miles. I'm a little jealous of you TN riders with all that nice scenery.
