• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My Bluetooth Children's Band radio setup

There are a couple of threads about setting up an aftermarket CB radio on our Spyders. I took a lot of info from them and came up with this setup.
On a group ride a channel is selected for use, it would be a "set it and forget it" situation? That is the reason I put the radio on the right side handlebar. The PTT switch is on the left side.
There is a cigarette plug under the seat that the power plug from the radio plugs into.

I would also like to use my Yaesu FT-270 2 meter with the SENA system. Their plug is not made correctly so I set it back to Amazon. The plug needs to be straight, not a 90° bend and it needs to have screw threads to properly connect it to my Yaesu. I sent a note to SENA about this problem.
The Yaesu FTF-270 is IPX7 rated. Three feet under water for 30 minutes...basically rain proof.

The rest of the Sena products I bought from Motorcycle Dave, a sponsor on this website. I got the SENA 10S for my Shoei RF1200 helmet. It was tricky getting the items attached!

The radio and the SR10 can be easily removed and locked up so they don't walk away on their own.

Looks good. If I ever get a Sena I want to Bluetooth to my XPR7550 UHF DMR-MARC radio. Glad to see some other radio people.

I got this answer back from SENA today. Note the diagram attachments at the bottom of the page. Looks like I will need the open ended cable to attach it to the Yaesu CT-91 cable.
Hi John,

Please see attachments.
Sorry to hear that the part #SC-A0114 for the SR10 adapter did not work out for you.
Looking at the attachments it does not appear your Yaesu FTF-270 is not one of the models compatible with that cable.
Contact your dealer for an exchange or return on this matter.

Your best bet if no specific cable works is just to get the open end cable but you'll need to do the customization yourself.
Attached are the pin out connector diagram.

Hope this helps. Ride Connected!
Thanks and have a wonderful day!

I've got a couple of emails out to SENA and Yaesu get me a schematic as to wiring up their two cables so I can have my FT-270 on the Bluetooth.

After a lot more research, looking and pondering, I figured out how to make my own cable for my Yaesu FT-270 2 meter radio. I had to resolder some connections and finally got it working.

On this cable I had to get another male 3.5mm to get things working properly. The cable attached to the radio is the finished product. I'll be able to use this radio in the rain too with the SENA Bluetooth setup.
I'll have to make a slight mod on the radio holder as this unit has no belt clip.

In a pinch, the 2 meter radio can be used as a telephone with a repeater that has a phone patch on it. I used that process back when there were mobile phones in the late 1980's.
