Nothing new, my grandmother had an electric car in the early 1900's. It burned, and ever since they have mostly been a battery issue. Gotta say messier back then with all the acid spills and burns and corrosion. Ever seen those flaming golf carts..?? :roflblack:

Not to get off topic, but then there's really no topic! You need to put the same firebird on your new Spyder. It would look really nice against the orange, yet somewhat hidden. It's become your signature and some of us will miss it.

I had a battery explode on my Dune Buggy [vw] while i was giving it a boost :yikes: Nothing left of the battery but scatted plates and smoking acid... ''One'' spark is all it took....
And i had to change my 25 year old underwear...

Thankfully the electric and hybrids aren't using the old school batteries, but they tend not to make me feel much better. There is some serious current buzzing around those things and all you have to do is stick your tongue on the wrong thing and you're well done.
