• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Musical Note for Belt Tensioning

Maybe a sillly question...maybe not. Has anyone put a musical note value on the proper drive belt tension? Just asking...:doorag:

Not that I can recall. Might be an interesting thing to consider--but I am not a mechanical one.

Not hard to do though, anyone with a guitar tuner can "strum the belt" and see what happens.

That was my thought....Or a digital piano app perhaps?

UPDATE: This is another current thread running that does indeed show an app for that.

I stay out of the technical stuff that bamboozles me--so yes, I missed it.:bowdown:

I downloaded the one app that a member suggested...DaTune Lite. Then took a ride for a while and jacked her up and the reading was a B or C at 31.8 to 32.3 I believe. Then put the bike back down on the floor and the constant reading was C# to D 36.6 to 37.4. I would suppose the bike should be jacked so there the belt is free wheeling so to speak. I am changing my rear tire in a few days and I want to get a decent reference of the belts tension before I remove the back wheel so I can get back to that setting once I mount it back up. The old fashioned way where you twist the belt with your thumb and forefinger is less than 90 degrees, maybe 70-80 degrees from flat. I will play around tomorrow too before and after a ride but only jacked up. I read that somewhere in here that it should be jacked. Any input is always appreciated. :doorag:
