• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What you are experiencing is the fact the GPS input has top priority for audio. When there is no GPS audio then the radio reverts to whatever other signal it is set for.

Just press and hold the down button. That will mute the radio. However, you will need to unmute the radio every time you start the bike after the key has been off in order to activate the GPS input. See this: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?96949-GPS-and-audio-oddity&highlight=anomaly

If you set the radio to Aux you will have the GPS output without any other inputs (as long as you don't have a running audio device plugged into the trunk aux input).

If you have a 2016 or 2017 model. Press the mode button repeatedly until you are into the audio screen. Then press the set button repeatedly until the screen changes to NAV mode. This is the mode specifically designed to use your gps as an mp3 player.

radio mute

hi,
sorry about not giving details. the spyder is a 2011 rt, couldn't afford alater model as thy are very expensive here, but hope to upgrade in 18months or so.

As others have said. Put the radio in aux mode and make sure nothing is connected to the ipod/aux connector in the trunk.

It is still not ideal because the way the gps is connected to the radio. On the transition to and from silent portions of the music playback. The radio will chop a small amount of the music off. Another problem and a big one for me is that the radio just outputs mono from the gps. The gps does input stereo to the radio but only only one channel of the stereo sound comes out all 4 speakers. It may have been not so bad if it had blended the two channels together, but no it discards one altogether.

May I suggest getting an older ipod and using that for your music. You should have got the cable to plug it into your ipod connector in the trunk. It just works better and controllable with the handlebar controls and displayed on the gage cluster screen.
