• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My friend just had his Spyder serviced. Reported his burn spot to his dealer, his dealer said Canam did not ask for the serial number. Said he was told a possible solution that's being considered is a heat shield to cover the mark offerred at the customers expense. Since this is not confirmed I'm not getting real nervous, but if this is being considered as their cure it sxxks. Anyone hear anything new ?

Still mixed responses from owners and dealers on muffler burn spot. Some mufflers are just discolored. Others report full paint burn off. Some owners have reported that dealers replaced mufflers with new ones that did the same thing. Others claim that their dealers say that spot is not a defect and muffler is functioning properly. I still have over four years of warranty left so I'm not worried about it. I have ordered the muffler shield and will try to get the dealer to comp it.

That was the approach I was going to take. Sounds like a reasonable one. Did they say what the delivery time was likely to be on the new shield?

I ordered the muffler shield about a week ago and it was shipped to arrive yesterday. However, it was shipped to the wrong state and is now overnited to be here today. So I guess about a week and that was with the New year holiday in the mix. :dontknow:

I ordered mine on Jan 5 and dealer said BRP showed 160 units in stock. He said it would be about a week, so I will look for it next week sometime. I will post when it arrives.

Dealer called today and it is in. Ordered Monday, at dealer in Michigan on Friday. Can't pick up today as we are snowed in. May have to wait until Monday.

I'm kinda with you two. I'm probably not going to get the heat shield, I'll just run it til the heat burns right out the side of the can. :D Hopefully it'll still be under warranty and maybe BRP will have a better stock muffler by then. If that fails, I still have dltang's stock pipe in the rafters of the garage. :2thumbs:
