• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 1330cc Muffler delete F3 S SS

Been searching internet including this forum and finding no answer. Has anyone just disconnected the muffler not messing with cat and just putting on an exhaust pipe (no muffler)? How would it look and sound? Thinking I could just disconnect the muffler and hear how it would sound?

Louder sound is good but the stock muffler is just plain big and ugly. Can't find a ready made one but thinking it might be an easy job at a auto muffler shop.

Check out RLS, he's a sponsor on this site, and tho I never dealt with him, it sounds to me, he's an exhaust guru, for better sound, you can get a cat delete pipe, with o.e.m. exhaust, that will result in a more deeper tone/rumble.
or go with a complete kit from RLS, there are tons of options.
I for myself, made my own cat delete, and welded an aftermarket acropovic to my F3sIMG_20201027_081608.jpgIMG_20201027_081608.jpg

The muffler matches the rest of the Bike. Not a beauty contest winner.
You have my attention about deleting the cat. On my 19 HD I was able to drill out the cat with a holesaw and some scraping. Hadn't considered that yet for the 21 BRP yet.

RLS Pipe......

You will never get a V-twin rumble from a 1330 engine. It is a high revving triple.

Switching to glass pack will give you more of a MotoGP sound on the 1330.

Simple to try. Loosen one clamp bolt and slide off the muffler. The OEM muffle is chambered, so it "likely" reduces sound more than the cat. I'm guess a exhaust/muffler shop could bend/expand a pipe to fit.

That what I am thinking and if needed a simple slip on muffler could finish it is the exhaust pipe needed a cover.

Correct me if I am wrong........but it sounds like you want an open exhaust, if so, you are absolutely nuts... :dontknow:

Super loud exhausts are one of, if not the major causes of negative impressions of our industry and avocation.

Watch South Park season 13 episode 12, "The F-word". It left an indelible impact on me.

I think the OEM cat quiets the exhaust a good amount. Doesn't cost anything to try..

Yes, I am that's why I also ride a Harley too. :roflblack:

Seriously, I am looking for a less ugly and slimmer exhaust. I don't particularly want to have to spend a lot of money for one of the custom exhaust to do that. Sound one being louder is just a secondary benefit.

Don't want to delete cat because I have read differing opinions on it while Spyder is under warranty. Plus looking for a cheaper way to remove stock muffler.

@coastie, I made my acropovic, in a way, I can always put back my o.e.m. Cat and exhaust, Nowadays overhere in the Netherlands, the discussion bout louder exchausts is firing up again.

Made the change yesterday for about $20 for 2 1/4 " muffler pipe elbow, muffler clamp and black engine paint. Sounds about the same but don't have to carry around that big ugly muffler.

Now to figure out an easy way to take off the muffler hanger. :dontknow:

I like the idea, but we need a picture and a sound clip :)

I'll put a picture on my list of things to do. :) Not so sure I can do a sound clip.

First got to take off new tail pipe to paint it. Have to put stock exhaust back on to take Spyder to local dealer maybe Tuesday. The cover over the coolant seems to be too small. The front tab won't stay caught at about 50 or above. Lifts up front of cover and wind vibration might break it. If was going to dealer where I bought it (80 miles away), I wouldn't bother to put muffler back on but due to local dealer's reputation, I think I better.
