I will have my 600 mile service this week and I will ask for a new muffler to replace the factory issued "burn marked" one. Has anyone actually had BRP replace their muffler and if so, 1) how long did it take and 2) did the new one do the same thing? I would like to know so that if my dealer plays dumb, I will have some idea how others have been handled.

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ours is burned, too. Dealer supposedly reported it to BRP, but it doesn't show on our service log. No sense in replacement since they burn, too. BRP says they are working on a solution.

My stock can developed a burn mark and was replaced under warranty at the 600 mile service (took about 2 weeks to get a new one in). Down side, the replacement has displayed the same burn mark, though not as pronounced as the original. (I have about 2200 miles on it.) A hindle is on order... and if it comes in, I won't hassle with another stock replacement. Now, if they would replace with a Hindle.... :2thumbs: but they won't :cus:, or even give me credit against one. :cus: %*!@X :cus:

My muffler was replaced actually pretty quick without question at 1300 miles. At 1350 miles I have another burned spot....:yikes::dontknow::banghead:

Sooooo...I guess I'll have a hard time selling my stock pipe?! :joke:
I replaced mine with the Hindle at 1200 miles, but it did not have any signs of "The Burn Mark".

Don't think so. When ours appeared, the weather was cold, and the gauge had never risen above three bars. RPM always below 6,500 at that point, too. Ours is not as prounounced as some, though.

Same here. I had a slight mark appearing before I put the Hindle on and all my riding to that point was with 3 bars or less on the temp gauge. Heck, most of those days I was happy if the daytime temp reached 60.
It has been very hot here in Florida and I didn't baby the Spyder and no burn mark at all (1200+ miles).
Maybe someone could tear apart a good one (no burn after many miles) and compare it to Lamonts'. It seems like a flaw in the muffler construction...different assembly plants/lines or just bad QC???
