• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Mud Flap

So I just rode for the first time in the rain on my new baby. Broke my heart to look down at the front fenders and see the brown nasty water running off of my nicely waxed paint. My question is that I see a lot of Spyders on here with rear flaps and even some with fronts. Does the rear really keep that much water down from spraying the back of the ride?:read:

No.

Clean up is part of owning a Spyder.

The only Spyders that stay clean...

...are the ones NOT getting ridden! :yikes:

Go get it dirty!!

Rear flap helps if it's big enough. I made mine. I think it's about 13" wide and hangs down to within about 2 to 3" off the road. The back end now only gets dirty, not totally filthy! :)

Spyderpops has a trailer hitch splash guard which they call the rooster tail eliminator. It does keep the rooster tail off of the back of the bike and the passenger however you need to have the trailer hitch and it's not the magic bullet of keeping it clean. A dryer passenger makes for a happier ryde

Thanks guys

So my real concern is not keeping the bike clean. Cleaning it is my mental therapy. I just notice that a lot of water sprays up from the rear and covers the wife back. Last night she was doing the cold water in my pants dance. :roflblack: But I told her to wear her raingear and she was stubborn. I am sure she learned her lesson. I think I will buy some rubber and make my own. Done it before for cheap.

I do love all the input I get from all of you though. Thank you for that.

Pictures

I would love to post pictures. I have tried to post pics of my Spyder from day one. Yet with no luck. I am not very computer Savvy. I see the attachment link when you post but it goes no where for me. Even tried to make an album with no luck. :banghead:

We are riders so if it is raining and had planned on taking the SPYDERS we're gone, thats why we bought rain gear. There is a lot of owners that just like to keep polishing.

My RTS has a hitch with a flap, and a SpyderFlap (site sponsor mudflap), they keep thing fairly clean.

I'll see that and raise you one
I also have Spyder Pops don't sling the mud on my trailer hitch
All of that works good
